 Job Summary
 
 
 
 Responsible for the efficient, profitable and safe operation of the service department.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Maintain staffing at proper levels in relationship to current market
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate performance of service department against stated goals, budgets, customer reviews and
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 competitors
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ensure that all shop and field service work is performed in an efficient manner to the satisfaction
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 of internal and external customers
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Perform periodic written evaluations for service technicians and staff as required
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that necessary shop tools and equipment are available and maintained in good working
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 order
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Meet and exceed company goals as related to growth, efficiency, and safety
 </li>
 <li>
 Review salary and compensation plan for service personnel and make recommendations for
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 changes as appropriate
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Prepare call reports, estimates and budgets as required
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate work in process for accuracy and efficiency
 </li>
 <li>
 Audit compliance of all federal, state and local regulations pertaining to the service department
 </li>
 <li>
 Schedule weekly customer visits jointly with CFAs, PSRs and/or equipment sales person
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain good working relationship with other departments
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain on-going self improvement via self study, company and factory provided programs
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform other tasks as requested by management
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Education/Experience/Skill
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 High School diploma or GED and a minimum two years at Vocational or Technical School
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in industry; preferably in the service area
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficient computer skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 </li>
 <li>
 General knowledge of maintenance, repair, parts department functions, sales, and customer needs
 
 
 </li>
