<div>The Labor &amp; Employment Practice Group at Lippes Mathias focuses on governmental relations/lobbying and represents public sector labor unions and other clients before the New York State Legislature, the Governor&rsquo;s Office and State administrative agencies. We are seeking a self-starting candidate with superior organizational skills to support the partner-in-charge and several other attorneys in the practice group. The successful candidate will support the team in drafting and organizing legal documents. 
Responsibilities and Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepare memoranda to open new matters</li>
<li>Create, maintain, and organize electronic and hard copy files</li>
<li>Prepare transmittal cover letters</li>
<li>Save, print, and file document submissions</li>
<li>Prepare and track delivery requests as needed</li>
<li>Help track status expirations and renewals</li>
<li>Proofread and edit documents as requested</li>
<li>Create accounting bills and expense reports as needed</li>
<li>Maintain closed files</li>
<li>Assist with calendaring critical dates</li>
<li>Provide other clerical support as needed</li></ul> 


Our ideal Legal Assistant will have:
<ul>
<li>Minimum 2 years experience as a legal assistant</li>
<li>Knowledge of reporting with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government is a plus</li>
<li>Accurate typing speed of 65+ wpm</li>
<li>High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook</li>
<li>General office and computer experience</li>
<li>Ability to maintain composure under pressure</li>
<li>Reliable attendance record</li>
<li>Experience with editing, revising, and drafting of legal documents</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task and to complete projects with little direction</li>
<li>Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information</li>
<li>Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products</li>
<li>Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills</li></ul> 


Salary range DOE: $22-$25.00/hour 


The pay range provided in this listing is a good faith estimate for this position based on the location that we are hiring for. Criteria included but not limited to, skill level, education, and experience, will determine where a candidate falls within the range.
