 Under general supervision, instructs students grades K-5 in visual arts, social, behavioral and other educational skill areas.
 
 
 Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Education. TN State licensure required.
 
 
 Experience: 2-3 years teaching experience in art preferred.
 
 
 Qualifications: Demonstrates excellent personal art skills, modeling the life of a Christian Artist reflecting the Creator Artist.
 
 
 Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Utilize an adopted course of study, instructional program guidelines, and other materials in planning and developing lesson plans
 </li>
 <li>
 Pursue a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing pupils, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions and laboratory experiences
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct teaching and instructional activities, using appropriate equipment, materials, books, art materials, etc.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides instruction, which infuses God&rsquo;s Word
 </li>
 <li>
 Review, analyze and evaluate the history, background and assessment of pupils in designing instructional programs to meet individual educational needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide group and individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain appropriate standards of student behavior, using behavioral management strategies and techniques, including positive reinforcement and behavior shaping procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Review, analyze, evaluate and report student academic, social and emotional growth
 </li>
 <li>
 Counsel, confer with and communicate with parents and administrators regarding student progress, and in the interpretation of the educational program
 </li>
 <li>
 Cooperatively pursue alternative solutions to ameliorate student learning problems, and to enhance expanded academic, social and emotional growth opportunities
 </li>
 <li>
 Select and requisition appropriate educational supplies, materials, equipment and learning aids
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform a variety of non-instructional duties, including curriculum and instructional development activities, student supervision and consultation activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide a motivating and stimulating learning environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow safety procedures and written and verbal instructions
 </li>
 <li>
 Work effectively with staff, students and the public
 </li>
 <li>
 Work autonomously
 </li>
 <li>
 Organize tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>

 Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the academic discipline.

 Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching the courses assigned.

 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
 </li>

 Ability to effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
 </li>
