Come join our welcoming, respectful and inclusive community and support adults with their lifelong learning goals.LCN currently has an opening for an adult English Language teacher in our daytime (Monday &amp; Wednesday) classes for our high beginner and intermediate students. Classes have already begun for our 2025 Fall Semester. We are looking for good natured, kind hearted, flexible teachers who can:<ul><li>Provide English Instruction to adult students in both online and in person classroom settings</li><li>Develop and implement instructional lessons based on student proficiency levels using content standards which enthuse and inspire students and promote enjoyment of learning</li><li>Effectively differentiate instruction to meet all student learning styles</li><li>Using LCN curriculum and guidelines, select and sequence appropriate materials, resources, and approaches according to the course/content area and audience of learners</li><li>Provide on-going feedback to students</li><li>Analyze student progress to identify areas for improvement</li><li>Utilize learning spaces and tools effectively (i.e., notice boards, displays)</li><li>Administers academic and language assessments to evaluate student progress in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition</li><li>Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and progress</li><li>Attend teacher and program meetings and attend professional development sessions</li></ul>Work Hours, Compensation, and Benefits<ul><li>Part-time, 6 hours per week, morning (9:30 - 12 pm) hours, plus planning time (one hour weekly). Instruction is in person.</li><li>Hourly wage of $23/hour</li><li>Benefits are not currently offered for this position</li></ul>Education and Experience Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college/university</li><li>Experience working with limited English proficient students</li><li>Candidates who are bilingual and/or have lived experience as language learners will be given preference</li><li>Experience with language instruction, TEFL, CELTA, or teaching certificate preferred</li></ul>Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
