JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for excellent patient service as visitors enter the clinic. Timely and efficiently, check patients in and out with a high degree of courtesy, professionalism and confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check In<ul><li>
Welcomes and greets patients/visitors to the clinic in a courteous and friendly manner. Determines the purpose of the visit and directs patient accordingly.</li><li>
Mark patient arrived in Medent.</li><li>
Update patients (126) Registration: Address, Phone numbers, Emergency</li><li>
Contacts, Ethnicity, E-Mail, Insurance Cards, etc. Enter information in Medent</li><li>
Scan insurance cards into Medent.</li><li>
Select in system how the patient would like to receive reminder calls (phone, text, or email).</li><li>
Verify patients Insurance Eligibility.</li><li>
Direct Patients to Correct Waiting room.</li><li>
Call No-Show patients to reschedule appointments or leave a message for patient to call back and reschedule.</li><li>
Make additional packets for patients added on to same day or next day schedule.</li><li>
Dispense and collect payments for contact lenses.</li><li>
Clean restrooms and patient waiting areas as needed.</li></ul>
Open<ul><li>
Turn on lights in clinic &amp; sub waits.</li><li>
Pick up cash boxes.</li><li>
Power on all computers up at front desk.</li><li>
Begin printing packets for next day, put in colored folders, check all deposits for manager</li><li>
Open up a New Batch for current business day.</li></ul>
Close<ul><li>
End of day: add all payments. Print daily journal and compare.</li><li>
Make any corrections needed to balance the day's batch.</li><li>
Complete batch sheet. Post batch.</li><li>
Settle credit card machine.</li><li>
Attach all receipts and payment slips to prepare for deposit.</li><li>
Print care credit report.</li><li>
Count cash box and turn in with batch.</li></ul>
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent</li><li>
Experience: Demonstrated success in Customer Service and computer competence. Electronic health records experience (preferred). Experience in a health care setting (preferred).</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong customer service skills; High level of attention to detail; Excellent communicator and listener; Familiarity with computers and keyboarding; Ability to work independently with close supervision.</div>
