Job Summary The Locust Valley Library is seeking a part-time Adult Services Librarian to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, providing thoughtful reference and readers&rsquo; advisory service, and helping patrons navigate both traditional and digital library resources.The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to adult programming, including book clubs and community-focused events, and to serve as Librarian-in-Charge during evening and weekend shifts.We are a welcoming, community-centered library, and we&rsquo;re looking for someone who brings a strong service mindset, is comfortable with technology, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide friendly and responsive reference and readers&rsquo; advisory service</li><li>Assist patrons with computers, printers, online resources, and digital tools</li><li>Help create, support, and oversee adult book clubs, programs, and related initiatives</li><li>Support adult collections, displays, and other public service efforts</li><li>Serve as Librarian-in-Charge during assigned evening and weekend shifts</li><li>Help support the smooth day-to-day operation of the library</li><li>Perform related duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited program</li><li>New York State Public Librarian&rsquo;s Certificate</li><li>Strong public service, communication, and technology skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively</li><li>Experience using library technologies and online tools to support patrons preferred</li></ul>CompensationStarting at $28.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.To ApplyPlease email a cover letter and resume to nbuccilli@locustvalleylibrary.org.Locust Valley Library is a free association library and is not subject to Civil Service requirementsPay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
