</b></h2><div><div><div><div>The Senior Research Scientist in Toxicology will provide scientific leadership and subject matter expertise in support of our preclinical and inhalation toxicology programs as well as support federal and commercial proposal development, particularly in the medical countermeasures space. The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical knowledge, strategic insight, and strong client facing skills to advance our scientific capabilities and business development (BD) goals. The Senior Research Scientist will also participate in business development client calls to provide scientific insight and technical guidance, support BD budget preparation and proposal development, serve as key opinion leader and/or PI on active studies to support study directors and client programs, attend and represent the company at major toxicology and inhalation conferences, provide on-site scientific support during key study milestones and client visits, and develop scientific and marketing materials including white papers, presentations and technical publication. This is a Part-Time, 20 hour a week position and is eligible for benefits.</div>

</b></h2><div><div><div><div>Requires a Ph.D in Toxicology or a directly related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.</div><div></div><div><br>
Must have demonstrated ability to handle fundamental scientific tasks and have published and/or presented original research in prior roles. Requires research experience in Toxicology</div><div></div><div><br>
Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required. Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team as well as the ability to maintain confidential information. Requires professional-level computer skills and advanced experience with Excel, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.</div>

</b></h2><div><div><div><div>Work is performed in an office environment. Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.</div><div></div><div><br>

Senior Research Scientist

</b></h2><div><div><div><div>Seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Sr. Research Technologist within the Microbial analysis group. An individual who demonstrates exemplary organizational skills with a proven track record of working independently and on teams is ideal. The Sr. Research Technologist will primarily be responsible for assisting in the performance of multiple infectious disease research projects simultaneously in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, including the propagation, characterization, manipulation, and detection and/or quantification of bacterial, fungal, viral, and toxin agents.</div><div></div><div><br>
The Sr. Research Technologist will be responsible for maintenance of continuous cell cultures, accurate and complete study records, supply inventory, and laboratory equipment. Responsibilities also include developing paperwork, analyzing data, processing study samples for quantification of viable microbes including bacteria, fungi, and/or viruses, and performing a variety of biochemical assays (including, but not limited to, qPCR, ELISA, and microscopic analyses), all while maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment.</div><div>
The work will include both regulatory and non-regulatory compliance.</div>

</b></h2><div><div><div><div>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related scientific discipline and 4 years of directly-related research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.</div><div><br>
</div><div>Candidate must have a demonstrated understanding of research methodology, principles and procedures. Must have the ability to successfully perform a variety of laboratory procedures using standard laboratory equipment and instruments. Must have the ability to gather, analyze and report data.</div><div><br>
</div><div>Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.</div><div></div><div><br>
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in a GLP environment.</div>
</div></div></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Physical Requirements
</b></h2><div><div><div><div>Work is performed in a wet laboratory environment. Will operate standard laboratory equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform lab- and desk-based computer tasks, perform laboratory techniques requiring grasping/pipetting/hand dexterity, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds. Will wear personal protective equipment which may include a respirator. May work in close proximity to an environment containing research animals and may be required to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious agents are present which may require vaccinations.<br>
