<b>Role Summary:</b><br>
We&rsquo;re looking for a Mid‑Level Software Engineer to join our delivery team, contributing to critical digital systems that support LCCC&rsquo;s mission to help the UK achieve Net Zero by 2050. Our digital platform underpins a wide range of applications including workflow automation, forecasting engines, calculation services, contract and task management, analytics dashboards and data portals.<br>

As a mid‑level engineer, you will play a key part in implementing high‑quality software, collaborating with Senior Engineers, Product, QA, DevOps, UX/UI, Principal Engineer and Architects. The role centres on solid engineering execution, problem‑solving, collaboration, and developing deeper technical capability, with increasing autonomy over time.</div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Key Responsibilities</b></h3><br>

<b>Coding &amp; Development</b><ul>
<li>Write, test and maintain high‑quality, secure and reliable code.</li>
<li>Implement features aligned to engineering standards and architectural direction.</li>
<li>Contribute to automated testing and continuous improvement of the codebase.</li>
<li>Deliver assigned tasks reliably and consistently, working toward greater autonomy.</li>
</ul></li><li><b>System Design &amp; Architecture</b><ul>
<li>Contribute to feature‑level design discussions and solution proposals.</li>
<li>Apply system design principles under guidance from senior engineers , principal engineer and architects.</li>
<li>Help ensure solutions are maintainable, scalable and aligned with platform architecture.</li>
<li>Consider stakeholder needs&mdash;primarily technical teams&mdash;when shaping implementation details <i>(Stakeholder Interaction integrated here).</i>
</li></ul></li><li><b>Code Review &amp; Quality</b><ul>
<li>Participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback.</li>
<li>Apply coding standards, design patterns and best practices during implementation.</li>
<li>Help raise quality through improved maintainability, readability and performance.</li>

<li>Follow technical guidance from senior engineers and technical leads.</li>
<li>Contribute ideas, highlight risks, and engage actively in technical discussions.</li>
<li>Demonstrate ownership of implementation-level decisions and their impact on the product.</li>
</ul></li><li><b>Project Execution</b><ul>
<li>Deliver work items from design through development, testing and deployment in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Provide accurate estimates and communicate progress or blockers early.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot issues in development, integration and production environments.</li>
<li>Ensure implementation contributes to the wider business and project outcomes</li>

<li>Learn from team members, pair with seniors and adopt modern engineering practices.</li>

Essential</b></div><ul>
<li>Hands-on experience in Python and web-development framework(e.g., Django) and JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of core software engineering principles.</li>
<li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and version control.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.</li>
<li>Willingness to learn new tools, technologies and domain knowledge .</li>
<li>Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.</li>

<li>Exposure to frameworks such as React, Node.js, Terraform, Celery or containerisation.</li>
<li>Understanding of database schema design and query optimisation.</li>
