Job Description:
The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for greeting and directing patients and visitors following HIPAA and company policies, providing clinic and appointment information, and communicating among departments. Updates patient information and forms as required. Inputs information for new and established patients. Assists patients with completion of medical history and information forms as needed.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Answers telephones, screens callers, relays messages, and greets visitors.</li><li>
Promote accuracy and efficiency in front desk procedures and paperwork.</li><li>
To register patients according to LOA protocols.</li><li>
To explain clinic policy to patients while receiving and delivering messages.</li><li>
To assist patients with accurately completing appropriate forms and documents for the required information.</li><li>
To handle and manage the continuous flow of information from doctors' offices and health care establishments.</li><li>
To respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of clients, to assure client confidentiality at all times.</li><li>
To organize and maintain forms and office stationery required for front desk activities and overflowing paper documents.</li><li>
To schedule follow up appointments and treatment appointments.</li><li>
Travels to satellite locations and floats to other clinics if needed.</li><li>
Assist with training of front desk staff.</li><li>
Additional responsibilities may be assigned to help drive our mission of delivering high-quality and compassionate cancer care in our community, for our community, and by oncologists who live in our community.</li></ul>
Qualifications/Competencies<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.</li><li>
Minimum of one year&rsquo;s experience in customer service setting, preferably receptionist experience in healthcare setting and experience with office equipment.</li><li>
Customer-service oriented</li><li>
Excellent telephone etiquette</li><li>
Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds.</li><li>
Knowledge of patient billing procedures.</li></ul>
