This role focuses on activities related to the support services functions, such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking, sterilization and transportation to ensure all required support activities are completed in a timely manner and meet the organization's quality standards and expectations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Environmental Services duties: Researches the environmental effects of activities to develop methods of controlling or minimizing factors contributing to environmental damage and/or improve the effectiveness of restorative activities. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that supervises para-professional employees. Responsibilities that typically include: Setting day-to-day operational objectives for team, problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex, and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.</p></div><p></p><div><p><b><br>
Job Overview</b></p><p>
Supervise the daily operations of assigned Environmental Services and Hospitality Services staff performance and workflow. Ensure that assignments are being performed thoroughly and effectively. Responsible for staff performance assessment, development, and training. Responsible for daily oversight of regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations and collaboration with other management and supervisory team members to support the department in its daily functions.</p><p></p><p><b>

Minimum Qualifications:</b></p><p>
1. High school diploma or equivalent.</p><p>
2. Three (3) years of related experience.</p><p></p><p><b>

1. Supervise the daily operations of assigned Environmental Services and Hospitality Services staff performance and workflow.</p><p>
2. Supervise staff on all functions and processes provided.</p><p>
3. Prepare master work and time schedules, coordinate time off and review daily adjustments in the work schedule.</p><p>
4. Perform quality control reviews and initiatives to ensure hospital and regulatory standards are being met.</p><p>
5. Complete performance evaluations for assigned staff and coordinate the establishment of goals and objectives for assigned staff.</p><p>
6. Responsible for the interview, selection process, hiring process, orientation set up, training set up, competency testing for all new hires.</p><p>
7. Responsible for the counseling and mentoring and discipline of employees.</p><p>
8. Recommend promotion, demotion, or termination when identified.</p><p>
9. Recommend process improvements to leadership and empower employees to bring forward their process improvement ideas.</p><p>
10. Responsible for input to the writing, reviewing, and revising policy and procedures pertaining to area of responsibility.</p><p>
11. Provide oversight of inventories, usage data, and ordering of consumable supplies and equipment repairs.</p><p></p><p>
 <b>Physical Requirements:</b></p><p>
1. Standing, walking, bending, and stretching majority of shift.
</p><p>2. Ability to push heavy loaded carts and lift between 30-60 lbs.</p><p>
3. Occasional climbing of ladders.</p><p>
4. Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, blood, body waste, and contaminated waste. Exposure to climate conditions when depositing trash in compactor.
</p><p>5. Possibility of cuts and needle punctures.</p><p>
6. Occasional exposure to hazards which may cause serious injury/illness (T.B., hepatitis, rodent bites). When working in non-patient areas, those hazards are minimal.</p><p>
7. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate prescription medications and computer keyboard.</p><p></p><p><b>

1. Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination including bring the proper requested equipment. Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive; offers blankets, checks modesty, and only engages in appropriate conversation involving the patient.</p></div><div><p>
2. Assists patient care staff and utilizes proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers or beds.</p></div><div><p>
3. Notifies nursing personnel, clinician, technician or reception upon arrival for patient. Verifies correct patient identification. Alerts nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.</p></div><div><p>
4. Completes transport quickly and efficiently; immediately notifies appropriate staff and leader when assignments are initiated and completed. Meets all performance related standards including response, active and completion times.</p></div><div><p>
5. Disinfects transport equipment before and after use according to policy and manufacturer instructions for use. Removes linen, disinfects and makes up stretchers upon completion. Returns equipment to proper location. Collects and returns wheelchairs and stretchers to the proper holding areas. Ensures that medical waste is disposed of according to established infection control and prevention procedures.</p></div><div><p>
6. Checks all equipment for proper and safe functions before use. Promptly reports any ineffective or broken equipment to unit leadership.</p></div><div><p>
7. Interacts with other system teams appropriately. Keeps appropriate staff and manager informed of cancellations, activities, needs, and/or concerns. Notifies Director of potential situations and unreasonable response times.</p></div><div><p>
8. Adheres to all policies, procedures and standards established by all regulatory agencies including but not limited to Federal, State, Joint Commission, OSHA, and CDC.</p></div><div><p>
9. Takes initiative when observing patients waiting in corridors to go back to their rooms by notifying dispatch and transporting patient.</p></div><div><p>
10. Conducts daily rounds to ensure equipment is properly stored.</p></div><div><p>
11. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for departmental operations.</p></div><div><p>
12. Assists in orienting, training and developing transport associates.</p></div><p></p><div><p><b>
