SHIFT HOURS: 8:00am to 5:00pm</div><div></div><div>

SALARY RANGES:</div>
Mechanical Designer I: $60,000.00 - $74,000.00
Mechanical Designer II: $75,000.00 - $99,000.00
Mechanical Designer III: $100,000.00 - $114,000.00
Senior Mechanical Designer: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00
JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanical Designer is responsible for supporting development, fabrication and evaluation of concepts, products, test fixtures and process equipment through the creation and maintenance of AutoCAD 2D layouts, 3D models, and prints. Use traditional drafting skills to create 2D representations and views exclusively in AutoCAD for rapid concept evolution. Provide device support in relevant labs, test environments, and technology demonstrations as applicable.
 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Mechanical Designer I<ul><li>
Translate between 3D Models (Inventor) and 2D Drawings (AutoCAD).</li><li>
Use 2D/AutoCAD exclusively with classic drafting principals to create mechanical drawings of components and assemblies with orthographic projections and functional representations</li><li>
Responsible for using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to develop 2D or refine 3D models for prototyping and/or release.</li><li>
Responsible for drawing and/or modeling tools and equipment for fixtures and engineering design libraries.</li><li>
Design and detail components and assemblies of low complexity.</li><li>
Participate in design reviews and new product development teams.</li><li>
Create and update patent drawings and technical illustrations.</li><li>
Check drawings and models for accuracy, design intent, and conformance to drawing and modeling standards.</li><li>
Design basic tooling and fixtures to support the manufacture and testing of products or prototypes.</li><li>
Communicate issues, improvements, and project status to peers, engineers, and immediate manager.</li></ul>
Mechanical Designer II, III<ul><li>

Provide mentorship on AutoCAD and Inventor drafting and modeling techniques, tips and tricks, and problem-solving.</li><li>
Design and detail of complex components and assemblies.</li><li>
Convey and verify design intent and drawing dimensioning and tolerancing schemes.</li><li>
Communicate issues, improvements, and project status to peers, engineers, managers, and directors.</li><li>
Contribute to the development of applicable dFMEAs.</li></ul>
Senior Mechanical Designer<ul><li>
All essential functions listed above.</li><li>
Lead the theoretical and physical design and implementation of all levels of components, assemblies, test fixtures, methods, and machines.</li><li>
Establish, train, and enforce departmental standards for designs and drawings.</li><li>
Provide advanced engineering and design support to product engineers as needed.</li><li>
Provide expertise in GD&amp;T, tolerance stack up, and Gauge Development.</li><li>
Design and detail components and assemblies of high complexity.</li><li>
Communicate issues, improvements, and project status to peers, engineers, and any level of leadership.</li><li>
Develop applicable dFMEAs.</li></ul>
Principal Mechanical Designer<ul><li>
All essential functions listed above.</li><li>
Provide expert engineering and design support to product engineers as needed.</li><li>
Complete autonomy to find, fix, and recommend changes.</li><li>
Define standard work and company templates that should be used for all projects.</li></ul>
 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
All other duties as assigned.</li><li>
Participate in design and development laboratories.</li></ul>
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
2D CAD and solid modeling proficiency required. AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor preferred. SolidWorks is a plus.</li><li>
Formal CAD training is a plus.</li><li>
Associates degree applied science or technical arts is required; mechanical design or design related specialties is preferred.</li><li>
Medical device experience or experience in a regulated industry preferred.</li><li>
Experience with product data management (PDM) is desired. Autodesk Vault is a plus.</li></ul>
 Mechanical Designer I<ul><li>
0-3 years&rsquo; mechanical design experience is required.</li></ul>
Mechanical Designer II<ul><li>
3+ years&rsquo; mechanical design experience is required.</li></ul>
Mechanical Designer III<ul><li>
7+ years&rsquo; mechanical design experience is required.</li></ul>
Senior Mechanical Designer<ul><li>
10+ years&rsquo; mechanical design experience is required.</li></ul>
Principle Mechanical Designer<ul><li>
12+ years&rsquo; mechanical design experience is required.</li><li>
Extensive knowledge of LSI Technology portfolio (active and historic), manufacturing capabilities, and mechanisms</li></ul>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES:
Mechanical Designer I<ul><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.</li><li>
Ability to use and follow document control procedures to include product data management (PDM).</li><li>
Able to complete basic to intermediate level tasks in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D.</li><li>
Basic Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing (GD&amp;T), tolerance stack ups, Design for Manufacturing &amp; Assembly (DFMA), Design for Reliability.</li><li>
Basic understanding of materials, machining and fabrication principles, and physics and mechanisms.</li></ul>
Mechanical Designer II<ul><li>
The above listed Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities.</li><li>
Able to complete intermediate to advanced level tasks in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D.</li><li>
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing (GD&amp;T), tolerance stack ups, Design for Manufacturing &amp; Assembly (DFMA, Design for Reliability.</li><li>
Basic knowledge of design failure mode and effects analysis (dFMEA).</li><li>
Basic understanding of materials treatments, conditioning, and finishes as well as post processing technologies.</li></ul>
Mechanical Designer III<ul><li>
The above listed Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities.</li><li>
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.</li><li>
Able to complete advanced level tasks in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D.</li><li>
Proven application of Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing (GD&amp;T), tolerance stack ups, Design for Manufacturing &amp; Assembly (DFMA), Design for Reliability.</li><li>
Advanced knowledge of design failure mode and effects analysis (dFMEA).</li><li>
Advanced understanding of materials, machining and fabrication principles, and physics and mechanisms.</li><li>

Senior, Principal Mechanical Designer<ul><li>
