<div><p><b>Job Mission</b></p>
<p>
The Scientist will provide technical support, lead customer and application development projects in support of Lubrizol&rsquo;s Performance Coatings products. This includes localization of new and existing products. This role will have the primary responsibility to drive customer approval of our HD, R&amp;P and SM products through robust technical data generation and through excellent technical support.
</p><p><b>Key Job Accountabilities</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and/or support technical service projects, validation of locally manufactured products and develop data package in support of the value proposition of the product as relevant for the IMEA market.
<ul><li>Accountable for the execution of medium and long-term projects
</li><li>Under customer&rsquo;s needs and deliver project milestones focused on results against meeting customer&rsquo;s timeline and technical targets.</li>
<li>Analyze and communicate test results, challenges, and opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
</li></ul></li><li>Operate with safety at the forefront and actively participate in the department safety programs</li>
<li>Work on development of in-house formulation and testing capabilities
</li><li>Develop and apply structure-property relationship for resins and additives.
</li><li>Work as an active member of cross-functional team ensuring alignment of project definition with marketing and sales.</li>
<li>Evaluate and test experimental polymers to provide results and recommendations to the development team.</li>
<li>Build strong relationship and collaboration with the global technical team leveraging expertise and sharing insights from local region.

</li></ul><p><b>Basic Qualifications
</b></p><ul><li>B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials/Polymer Science, or related field from an accredited college/university with a minimum 3+ years&rsquo; experience formulating and testing water and solvent-borne pigment dispersions and coatings.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills</li>
<li>Skills to develop and implement coatings characterization methods and to interpret results.</li>
<li>Fundamental understanding of pigment dispersions, one component (1K) and two component (2K) coatings technologies in both waterborne and solvent borne systems.Experience in the use of statistical methods for design of experiments, data modeling, and analysis of results.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.</li>
<li>Knowledge of paint application equipment and techniques.</li>
<li>Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.</li>
<li>Self-starter, highly motivated toward achievements, results oriented and team player.</li>
<li>Ability to travel as needed to support the evaluations and commercialization of new products (est. 20%).</li></ul><br>

Technical Service & Application Scientist

<div><p><b>Role Summary &ndash; Jr. Process Chemist</b></p><br>

</p><p>Follow established procedures and guidelines to operate the process units, load/unload storage tanks and manufacture chemical products.</p><br>
<p></p>
<p><b>
RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><br>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>Safely operate and work with industrial equipment using the proper PPE and safety procedures.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Process chemical products using batch sheet instructions. Includes manual and DCS operation.</li>
<li>Loading, Unloading and sampling of material containers (tank cars/trucks, drums) in the plant whenever required.</li>
<li>Track/record process information and production data.</li>
<li>Production data entry in ERP &ndash; SAP system</li>
<li>Report non-conformance/ deviations to shift in charge and participate in troubleshooting equipment, processes, etc. to find out the root cause</li>
<li>Provide suggestions for process improvement.</li>
<li>Coordination with QAL and Maintenance functions.</li>
<li>Maintaining equipment in good condition- cleanliness, attend minor maintenance jobs like leaks, oil top up, hose connection, etc.</li>
<li>Clean/prepare equipment for maintenance as required. Issue work memos and release equipment safely for maintenance. Conclude the job with successful trials.</li>
<li>Monitoring jobs mentioned in work permits issued in the unit.</li>
<li>Responsible for good housekeeping in plant and surroundings.</li>
<li>Participate in plant emergency response team (Rescue Squad) activities.</li>
<li>Participate in safety audit, Hazop studies and preparing JSA.</li>

REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):</b></p><br>

<li>Diploma in Chemical Engineering with good academic background and 1 to 5 years of experience in a chemical industry. ( Preferably from specialty chemical company)</li>
<li>Understanding of hazardous materials and safety procedures (MSDS, JSA&rsquo;s, etc.)</li>
<li>Good interpersonal communication skills (verbal/written).</li>
<li>Ability to plan tasks, work independently, and display individual initiative.</li>
<li>Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problem.</li>
<li>Basic computer skills.</li>
<li>Ability to identify process improvements and act on them.</li></ul><br>

<p><b>
Experience:</b></p>
<p>
 1 to 5 years of experience in the chemical industry. ( Preferably from specialty chemical company)</p>
<p>
Exposure to plant operations; working with hazardous chemicals, working on DCS,</p>

exposure to working of basic instruments and mechanical equipment; awareness about</p>
<p>
safety and environment protection in process industry.</p><br>
