Lucid is seeking a talented and energetic lawyer with expertise in customer relationships within the SaaS technology industry. The role involves drafting and negotiating customer facing SaaS contracts and advising our Sales team on all legal matters.

The role reports to the Sr. Counsel, Sr. Commercial Manager and would ideally be located in our Salt Lake City, UT or Raleigh, NC office for hybrid work.

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Analyze, draft, and negotiate SaaS subscription and other commercial agreements.</li>
<li>Support the needs of our global sales teams to manage the contracting process and drive deals to closure.</li>
<li>Advise stakeholders regarding relevant issues and risks in our commercial contracts, and ensure our agreements reflect our internal corporate policies and processes.</li>
<li>Be able to negotiate contracts and answer questions related to relevant data privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA.</li>
<li>Contribute to the formulation of playbook positions and the continuous improvement of department processes and templates.</li>
<li>Work closely with cross-functional teams to shape and improve Lucid's sales and contracting processes to enable both legal and business functions to scale effectively.</li>
</ul>
Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Undergraduate and Juris Doctor from highly regarded schools and member of a state bar.</li>
<li>3-5 years combined legal experience in a software company, customer facing legal function, and/or in a law firm counseling rapid-growth technology companies.</li>
<li>Transactional experience negotiating SaaS agreements, NDAs, partner agreements, consulting agreements, etc. for both customers and vendors.</li>
<li>Sound and practical legal and business judgment with the ability to assess risks, incorporate risk-based decision making into redlines, and communicate those risks to business partners in plain English.</li>
<li>Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.</li>
<li>Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude.</li>
<li>Curious and highly motivated to elevate Lucid's legal department to the next level.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Expertise with subscription and/or SaaS technology industry.</li>
<li>Experience in supporting sales departments as an internal client.</li></ul>
