Organization Overview: Lutheran Campus Ministry (LCM) is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). LCM seeks to create an inclusive, caring and welcoming student faith community within the University of Iowa. LCM operates in space provided by Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.Position Overview: Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Iowa seeks to hire a part-time employee to perform bookkeeping and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have good organizational skills. Applicants should be able to work independently and have good interpersonal skills.Onsite work is required with some remote work possible.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:&Oslash; Administrative:&middot; Support campus minister and board as requested&middot; Provide friendly professional welcome to all&middot; Process mail&middot; Monitor email and answer inquiries&middot; Maintain LCM board and ministry documents&middot; Maintain donor database with contact information&middot; Send thank you notes to donors&middot; Set up web based meetings as needed&middot; Attend board meetings as needed&Oslash; Financial:&middot; Pay bills, maintaining database file for all payments&middot; Deposit checks, recording and maintaining donor database&middot; Maintain ledger ensuring all payments and deposits are recorded&middot; Generate monthly financial reports&middot; Manage payroll and benefit inputs&middot; Manage account access and expenditures&middot; Prepare and distribute year end donor contribution statements&middot; Create 1099 forms as needed&middot; Support annual budget process&Oslash; Building:&middot; Work with Gloria Dei to obtain necessary parking permits&middot; Communicate with Gloria Dei on facility maintenance and repair needs&middot; Keep facility neat and orderly, initiating cleaning as needed&middot; Arrange with Gloria Dei to get door code locks changed annually in August&Oslash; Qualifications: &middot; Prior accounting and bookkeeping experience&middot; Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel&middot; Experience with cloud platforms&middot; Excellent oral and written communication skills&middot; Commitment to confidentiality&middot; This position requires the employee to be able to walk, sit, speak, and lift 30 pounds or less.&middot; Experience with Church360 software is a plus.&Oslash; Employee Compensation and Benefits:&middot; Competitive hourly compensation.&middot; Anticipate 15 hours per week would be required with the potential for up to 20 hours per week.&middot; Flexible working hours&middot; Free parking availableIf interested, send cover letter and resume to lcm.ui.board@gmail.com.References will be required.Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Iowa City, IA 52245
