Our Services for People with Disabilities care for individuals across the state, from providing occasional respite care or weekly services, to 24/7 support in either a shared apartment environment or one-on-one care through our hourly supported community living (SCL) program. What You'll Do
An hourly SCL (Supported Community Living) Caseworker works with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or chronic mental health conditions. Our Caseworkers are there to provide support, assistance, and instruction in learning independent living skills like:<ul><li>Money management</li><li>Socialization</li><li>Cooking</li><li>Personal hygiene</li></ul>
It's important that the individuals we work with are encouraged to be involved in their community. Our Caseworkers will learn the basics of outcome-based performance measures, and help develop Individualized Service Plans that are reflective of the personal goals each of our individuals have.
Schedules are flexible to meet your needs and the clients' needs. This position primarily works one on one with individuals in a mix of day, after-school and evening hours, mostly Monday through Friday. This role also has the potential to grow as more hours become available, and if desired.
What You'll Need
Qualified candidates for this job will have ONE of the following:<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS in human services, education, or human services related field. One year of related experience is preferred.</li></ul>
OR
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Non- human services and 1 year of human services related experience.
OR<ul><li>AA Degree with 2 years of human services experience.</li></ul>
OR<ul><li>High school diploma/GED with 4 years of human services experience.</li></ul>

LSI is seeking a full-time Licensing Caseworker to serve Spencer and surrounding counties (Dickinson, Clay, O'Brien, Osceola, Lyon). This position requires travel and offers work from home/remote flexibility. 
 
DUTIES 
 
The Licensing Caseworker is responsible for the recruitment of families to care for the kinds of children coming into care, including completing the initial licensing process for prospective foster families and approval process for prospective adoption families. This entails generating the interest of families who will meet service area priority needs and supporting them through orientation, training, writing and submitting the home study packet, and until they receive their first placement. 
 
The worker in this position is responsible for working with families to complete assigned new home studies for resource, relative and/or adoptive within project timelines. The position requires the individual to become very familiar with family-to-family recruitment strategies and all licensing rules and adoption rules through the Department of Human Services and the Iowa Code. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
 
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field and a minimum of two years experience within the child welfare field. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply! 
 
The Licensing Recruiter position requires an individual who is well organized and has the ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, and possesses the skills, energy, and desire to complete initial home studies to potential foster/adoptive families. 
 
The position requires an individual who enjoys positively promoting foster care and adoption, working with staff and leaders, and helping to recruit and license foster and adoptive families. The individual must be able to collaborate with others, have good time management skills, and have a desire to form strong and positive relationships with Iowa KidsNet leaders, staff, stakeholders, and customers. 
 
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
