Sound like a familia you're ready to join? Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing support, feedback, and professional development opportunities</li><li>
Oversee project execution from scoping through design and delivery, ensuring technical accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction.</li><li>
Foster a collaborative team environment and serve as the go-to resource for escalated questions or project challenges.</li><li>
Support business development through client engagement and project proposal preparation.</li><li>
Ensure quality control by reviewing substation design packages as needed (including one-lines, conduit schedules, BOMs, relay panel layouts, etc.).</li><li>
Collaborate across disciplines and departments to support a variety of substation project types (e.g., breaker upgrades, transformer replacements, RTU and fiber upgrades, bus protection).</li><li>
Provide occasional technical guidance in physical or P&amp;C design, with an emphasis on developing junior team members.</li><li>
Lead team participation in field walkdowns and site visits, as required.</li><li>
Maintain awareness of project budgets, schedules, and risks.</li></ul>
Knowledge and Skill<ul><li>
Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams, including performance management, mentoring, and team development.</li><li>
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to balance technical oversight and people leadership.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.</li><li>
Minimum 5 years of experience in the utility industry; QA/QC experience on substation projects is highly valued.</li><li>
Working knowledge of substation engineering practices, whether physical or protection &amp; control (P&amp;C).</li><li>
Familiarity with substation components and systems, including power transformers, breakers, control houses, and ground grids.</li><li>
Understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, ANSI).</li><li>
PE license preferred but may be waived based on experience.</li><li>
Willingness to travel to substation sites as needed.</li></ul>
