 Bachelor's degree required. Teaching qualification or equivalent if Bachelor's degree not in Education or related subject.
 
 
 Strongly desirable to have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership (or related matters), or a postgraduate qualification related to educational leadership (such as NPQH).
 
 
 
 
 
 
 EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
 
 
 
 At least 10 years of experience in teaching including at least three years of experience in mid or senior level instructional leadership.

 JOB PURPOSE
 
 
 
 1. To plan, evaluate and lead on all academic matters related to teaching and learning, curriculum design and implementation, assessment and data analysis, students' personal and social development and school wide self-evaluation and development planning.
 
 
 2. To build effective relationships with key stakeholders and to ensure that a positive and collaborative culture is embedded in the school, in line with Ma'arif vision and core values.
 
 
 3. To collaborate with the Education Team at HQ in order to ensure the school is providing quality educational provision and to optimize the collective benefits that Ma'arif schools provide to the communities of KSA.
 
 
 4. To ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the school, effecteivly managing staffing, scheduling and other operational matters.
 
 
 5. To oversee the pastoral and wellbeing needs of all students within the school.
 
 
 6. To undertake perfromance management of the school academic staff in accordance with agreed policy and procedures.
 
 
 7. To support the work of the Superintendent in all academic matters relating to school performance and effectiveness.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
 
 &bull; Responsible for all matters related to teaching and learning and academic affairs at the school
 
 
 &bull; Implements the vision and mission of Maarif in collaboration with other administrative and academic leaders at the school.
 
 
 &bull; Develops the structure for academic operations (number of classes, teacher allocation and loads, etc ).
 
 
 &bull; Responsible for the implementation of the MLG Operational Policy - all matters related to academics
 
 
 &bull; Responsible for developing improvement and action plans to address findings of data analysis (qualitative and quantitative data)
 
 
 &bull; Leads the academic team at the school in designing and implementing a creative curriculum that meets the needs of students.
 
 
 &bull; Identifies staff professional development needs and designs training programs to address these needs.
 
 
 &bull; Line manages the school's academic team and is responsible for its performance
 
 
 &bull; Collaborates with the Superintendent, Heads of school, Head of School Administration and other leadership members in developing appropriate strategies to meet enrolment targets and minimize attrition rates.
 
 
 &bull;Leads the process of self-evaluation across the school and is responsible for developing the school's improvement plan.
 
 
 &bull; Responsible for collating and endorsing the performance evaluation results for the academic team and for submitting results for approval by the General Supervisor.
 
 
 &bull; Establishes communication and collaborative channels with relevant academic entities to broaden students' opportunities and to enrich learning experiences.
 
 
 &bull; Evaluates the quality of teaching and learning by conducting appraisal visits to all teachers at least once per academic year
 
 
 &bull; Responsible for the credibility and validity of assessments and ensures all relevant guidelines are met
 
 
 &bull; Collaborates with relevant staff members in ensuring the school environment is suitable and safe for optimal learning experiences
 
 
 &bull; Responsible for implementing all education policies and guidelines as prescribed by the Education Department at HQ.
 
 
 &bull; Undertake all tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Education HQ.
 
 
 &bull; Comply with safeguarding standards and protocols.

Head of School

 The subject supervisor is to work with the teachers and School educational leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning practice and education processes, to raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the respective subject area.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
 
 
 
 Bachelor's degree at minimum. Preferably master's degree in the subject area

 6+ years of teaching at a minimum, preferably across phases.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
 
 &bull; Assists the Executive Education Officer and the school principal in ensuring high quality professional practice (curriculum standards and teaching and learning practices).
 
 
 &bull; Co-ordinates teaching and learning in the subject/s of responsibility.
 
 
 &bull; Holds and leads regular departmental meetings and ensures minutes of meeting are recorded and logged.
 
 
 &bull; Visits classes and evaluates teaching practices to ensure high quality effective teaching and learning.
 
 
 &bull; Documents all class visits and provides constructive feedback to teachers to prompt quality teaching and learning practices.
 
 
 &bull; Provides regular reports and briefs to the Education Executive Officer and the relevant authorities on the status of the curriculum, instructional practices and related affairs.
 
 
 &bull; Conducts periodic and annual performance evaluation for the department's staff.
 
 
 &bull; Participates in books reviews at the school as well as advises and contributes to curriculum design and development.
 
 
 &bull; Coaches and mentors new staff members and defines professional development needs of the department staff.
 
 
 &bull; Participates in developing and reviewing the objectives, policies ,targets and procedures in context of the curriculum and other instructional matters.
 
 
 &bull; Verifies examination papers, co-ordinates marking schemes, and moderates examinations and assessment processes
 
 
 &bull; Collects, analyzes, and uses student results data to support Instructional decision-making in his/ her subject area.
 
 
 &bull; Ensures the timely and adequate requests of textbooks, materials, equipment, and resources required for the effective teaching of the subject
 
 
 &bull; Advises on retention and termination of the department's staff based on performance review
 
 
 &bull; Undertakes any teaching task whenever needed (see Job Description of a Teacher) or any other related task assigned by the line manager.
