<br>
<b>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</b></div><ul><li>
Review and analysis of pre-litigation settlement demands to formulate appropriate strategy and timeline to effectuate settlement of personal injury and wrongful death claims.</li><li>
Determine all possible claimants who may be eligible to participate in settlement and facilitate settlement of all known claims.</li><li>
Review and analysis of insurance policy documentation to confirm appropriate persons to be included in settlement.</li><li>
Secure required documentation to ensure compliance with any conditional demands.</li><li>
Maintain active and ongoing communication with clients, carriers and opposing counsel regarding case status.</li><li>
Draft legal correspondence and settlement documents.</li><li>
Ensure payment issuance to claimants in a timely manner.</li><li>
Work closely with team members on case strategy and resolution of any settlement issues.</li></ul><div><br>
<b>
Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Excellent communication skills, including written, telephone and in-person.</li><li>
Strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task and handle a large caseload with varying deadlines.</li><li>
Knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules and filing procedures is a plus, but not required.</li><li>
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and instruction.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc. and Adobe).</li></ul><div><br>

Required Education:</b></div><ul><li>
ABA Paralegal Certificate.</li></ul><div><br>

The hourly range in California for this role is $25.00 - $35.00 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. Pre-Litigation Paralegal

Macdonald &amp; Cody, LLP is an insurance defense litigation firm specializing in personal injury and catastrophic injury claims. We are looking to add a Minor's Compromise Paralegal to our growing pre-litigation team.<br>
<br>
<b>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</b></div><ul><li>
Follow up communications with both counsel and proper parties to secure documents including but not limited to settlement agreements, affidavits of heirship, lien status and other documentation required for the facilitation of case settlements.</li><li>
Maintain active and ongoing communication with clients and carriers regarding case status.</li><li>
Ensure payment issuance to claimants in a timely manner through communications with carriers.</li><li>
Closely communicate with team members regarding case settlement issues and assist with resolutions of such issues.</li><li>
Preparation of Minor's Compromise Judicial Council forms (i.e., MC-356, MC-355, MC-351, MC-350, etc.)</li></ul><div><br>
<b>
Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Strong organization and time management skills and ability to simultaneously work on a large caseload.</li><li>
Knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules and filing procedures is a plus, but not required.</li><li>
Works independently with minimal supervision and instruction.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc. and Adobe).</li><li><b><i>
Must have paralegal certification.</i></b></li></ul><div><br>
