<div><p>Provide tutoring and model learning regulation strategies for students in identified subject areas in the <b>Academic Success Center</b>, contribute to support of special needs students, develop tutoring resources, and participate in outreach projects.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Responsibilities</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>Tutor students in content area individually and in small groups, both online and on campus.</li><li>
Provide limited computer assistance to help students navigate their computer-mediated learning.</li><li>
Develop and maintain familiarity with Macomb course outcomes in your area(s) and align tutoring approaches with Macomb course outcomes and progressions.</li><li>
Assist students in identifying learning challenges, developing enhanced strategies for self-regulated learning, and creating a support network for long-term college success.</li><li>
Provide 1:1 tutoring support for students with special needs and/or accommodations.</li><li>
Inform students about adaptive technology when appropriate and ensure modes of tutoring and use of assistive technology adheres to ADA specifications and promotes inclusive learning.</li><li>
Document tutoring activities, including attendance, session descriptions, and student progress using Penji.</li><li>
Collaborate with tutor colleagues and supervisors to develop, evolve, and implement quality tutoring methods.</li><li>
Maintain familiarity with online and asynchronous resources and recommend updates to tutor colleagues or ASC manager.</li><li>
Collaborate with lead tutors and ASC manager on special outreach and tutoring projects, including classroom visits, when necessary.</li><li>
Assist with class visits, department tours, and other outreach events.</li><li>
Maintain rapport with students and alert supervisors of student learning issues and communicate these using early intervention protocols (e.g. Maxient) as directed.</li><li>
Participate in regular paid observation, review, and professional development to achieve College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certification training, and (once certified) maintain appropriate certification.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul></div><p></p>

<div><p>BA or BS from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent college credits/professional experiences in subject area (transcript or proof of professional expertise required if hired).</p></div>

<div><p>Preference given to applicants with prior tutoring, teaching, or community resource experience.</p></div></div></div>

Academic Success Center Professional Tutor

<div><p>Provide support for the full and part-time faculty in support of OTA curriculum activities and competencies.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Responsibilities</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li>Assist faculty in lab courses with student clinical competency evaluation as needed.</li><li>
Proctoring exams for faculty as needed.</li><li>
Provide feedback to OTA faculty regarding student progress/lack of progress with skill competencies.</li><li>
Provide students with opportunities for remedial learning for achieving basic OTA competencies.</li><li>
Assist faculty in ensuring accreditation standards are met.</li><li>
Provide open lab hours in the OTA lab for student use</li><li>
Prepare equipment for instruction before and help organize after each class session.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul></div><p></p>

<div><p>Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant program and hold a current NBCOT certification and state licensure/registration. Clinical experience required.</p></div></div></div>

Assist tutor colleagues and ASC Managers on special outreach and tutoring projects.</li><li>
Assist with class visits, department tours, and other outreach events.</li><li>
Participate in regular observation, review, and professional development opportunities, including CRLA certification.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><b>
LITERACY FELLOW RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br>
<ul><li>
Work with students individually to improve writing strategies using approved tutoring consultation methodologies with mentorship from literacy consulting staff.</li><li>
Work with students individually to improve reading strategies using approved reading consultation methodologies with mentorship from literacy consulting staff.</li><li>
Assist students with making appointments and maintain session records in Penji, such as session summary forms.</li><li>
Help students develop connections to appropriate support services on campus.</li><li>
Assist with class visits, department tours, and other outreach events.</li><li>
Perform other related duties as assigned</li></ul></div><p></p>

Must have completed at least one course in subject area to be tutored with an A or B. (transcript required)</li><li>
