Summary</b></div><div>
The Fire Private-Recruit trains in fire suppression, combating, extinguishing and preventing fires, answering emergency calls, and in routine maintenance of department equipment, apparatus and quarters. Training involves participation in duties of protecting life and property through the performance of firefighting and rescue activities.<br>

Until the </b><b>completed</b><b> application and </b><b>all</b><b> required documents are accepted by the Human Resources Department, you are not considered an applicant and will not be given consideration for the position in the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department.</b><br>

Step 2: Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT)</b><br>
Applicants must be able to pass a Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) with the minimum standards listed below.</div></div><div></div><div><b><i><br>
RUN (TIME LIMIT 14:46 MINUTES):</i></b><br>

Must run 1.5 miles.</li></ul></div><div><b><i>
AERIAL LADDER CLIMB (TIME LIMIT 5 MINUTES):</i></b></div>
Wearing helmet and gloves<br>

Must climb 105 ft. extended ladder at a 75-degree angle.</div></li></ul><div><b><i>
FIRE HYDRANT ASSEMBLY (TIME LIMIT 5 MINUTES):</i></b></div>
Instructions will be read to you.<br>

CPAT (TIME LIMIT 6:30 MINUTES):</i></b></div><ul><li><div><b><i>
Ladder Carry: </i></b>Carry a 14 ft. roof ladder 50 ft., hang on side of building, take down, and carry 50 ft. back to mark.</div></li><li><div><b><i>
Hose Advancement: </i></b>Advance charged 1 3/4&quot; hose line 50 ft. and place nozzle on mark.</div></li><li><div><b><i>
Hose Evolution:</i></b><i> </i>Follow hose line in a darkened area thru confined space prop wearing a nomex hood.</div></li><li><div><b><i>
Victim Rescue Simulator: </i></b>Drag 185 lb. weighted sled 25 ft. around a cone and 25 ft. back to mark.</div></li><li><div><b><i>
Hose Carry: </i></b>Carry (2) 2 1/2&quot; hose rolls 25 ft. around a cone and 25 ft. back to mark.</div></li><li><div><b><i>
Tire Chop: </i></b>Use sledgehammer to hit a tire 50 ft.</div></li><li><div><b><i>
Hoisting Object Simulator: </i></b>Pull a tire 50 ft. with a rope.</div></li></ul><div><br>

Step 3: Assessment Center</b><br>
Once passing the Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT), the applicant must pass the Assessment Center (applicant will be notified of instructions).<br>

Step 4: Applicant has to complete 6 References (3 Professional/3 Personal)</b><div>
Once this is completed and confirmed, each applicant will be added to the Fire Registry to be considered for an interview with the Fire Chief.</div></div><div></div><div><p><b><br>
