Position Overview:Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys work at the pleasure and direction of the Prosecuting Attorney to zealously and effectively represent the interests of the State of Ohio and Madison County, Ohio.Qualifications:&middot; Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio&middot; Must maintain twenty-four (24) hours of bi-yearly training with the Ohio Supreme Court&middot; Must be in good standing with the Ohio Supreme CourtResponsibilities Include (but are not limited to):&middot; Perform any task assigned or requested by a supervisor&middot; Provide legal representation to the State of Ohio, Madison County, and all elected officials, commissions, boards, agencies, districts or departments of the County&middot; Provide legal representation to all Madison County townships, trustees and fiscal officers&middot; Attend all court proceedings at Municipal Court, or related misdemeanor hearings&middot; Attend court proceedings when other assistant prosecuting attorneys are not available&middot; Meet with law enforcement officers, victims and other witnesses to prepare for all court proceedings&middot; Work closely on each matter with Administrative Assistants and Victim Witness Advocates&middot; Engage in legal research&middot; Draft and file motions, memorandums of law, and other legal documents&middot; Represent Madison County before the 12th District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court&middot; Prosecute all misdemeanor matters within Madison County, Ohio&middot; Review and execute personal, investigative and duces tecum subpoenas&middot; Community involvement and outreach on behalf of the Prosecutor&rsquo;s Office&middot; Provide legal advice to law enforcement on a 24/7 basis&middot; Perform civil representation regarding injunctions, forfeitures, small claims, evidence destruction and release, etc.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
