Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Care Professional (Pet Sitter &amp; Dog Walker) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care and attention to pets while ensuring their safety and well-being. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy spending time outdoors and have experience with various pet breeds and temperaments. Hiring for midday, evenings, and weekends.Responsibilities<ul><li>Walk dogs in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization.</li><li>Monitor the health and behavior of each dog, reporting any concerns to the owner or supervisor.</li><li>Maintain a positive relationship with clients by providing excellent customer service during interactions.</li><li>Handle multiple dogs at once, demonstrating strong animal restraint and handling skills.</li><li>Ensure that all dogs are leashed securely and that proper equipment is used during walks.</li><li>Clean up after dogs during walks, maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.</li><li>Provide basic training commands as needed to reinforce good behavior during walks.</li><li>Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's needs, preferences, and any issues that may arise.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Provide exceptional care for a variety of pet shapes, sizes, and temperaments including dogs of all sizes, cats, birds, and other types of pets.</li><li>Frequent leash walking of all sizes and breeds of dogs while keeping the safety of the pet and the walker priority</li><li>Provide pet visits during scheduled times in all-weather conditions including rain, cold, heat, and after dark</li><li>Demonstrate understanding of basic pet behavior</li><li>Clean up pet-related accidents</li><li>Maintain and secure client keys and home</li><li>Additional responsibilities may include handling mail and packages, plant care, waste handling, and other household requests</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li><li>Valid driver license and reliable transportation with auto insurance coverage</li><li>Live within our service area and willingness to travel to all our clients in Bath, West Bath, Brunswick and surrounding areas</li><li>Eligible to work in the United States and pass a background check</li><li>Must possess or have the ability to obtain pet first aid and CPR certification</li><li>Effective time-management skills demonstrating dependability, reliability, and flexibility</li><li>Demonstrate professionalism with pets, clients, and staff</li><li>Ability to follow detailed client directions and apply problem solving skills</li><li>Maintain composure and remain calm in emergency situations which may involve aggressive or sick animals</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills utilizing proper grammar and spelling</li><li>Use a mobile app to track schedule, time, and mileage, and communicate with clients</li><li>Prior animal care experience preferred</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and capable of effectively controlling the leash of a dog over 50 lbs</li><li>Must be able to visually inspect pets</li><li>Must be comfortable and able to walk for long periods throughout shifts</li><li>Must be comfortable and able to climb stairs, sit, stand, crouch, kneel, and run</li><li>Driving to addresses within assigned region</li><li>Work environment requires no barriers or aversions to touching, smelling, or being in close proximity with animals or animal fluids</li><li>Ability to assess situations accurately and respond quickly</li></ul>Join our team where your passion for pets can shine through while providing essential care for our furry friends!Job Type: Part-timePay: From $18.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Mileage reimbursement</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Paid training</li></ul>Work Location: On the road
