Through our Mana Mele Project, artist mentorships, multimedia programs, school partnerships, and community events, we serve thousands of youth and families across Hawaiʻi each year.Position OverviewMana Maoli is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Bookkeeper / Entry-Level Accountant to support the financial health and sustainability of our organization.This position will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, financial recordkeeping, grant and program tracking, reporting, payroll support, and other accounting-related functions. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working with numbers, and interested in supporting a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Hawaiʻi's youth and communities.Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain accurate financial records in Quickbooks</li><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable</li><li>Reconcile bank accounts and electronic payment systems (for example Paypal)</li><li>Assist with payroll administration and related reporting</li><li>Support grant budget tracking and expenditure monitoring</li><li>Assist with the preparation of financial reports</li><li>Maintain financial documentation and digital records</li><li>Coordinate with External CPA, Auditors, and Tax Professionals</li><li>Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices, including GAAP, Accounts Payable (A/P) , Accounts Receivable (A/R), payroll support, reconciliations, and monthly close.</li><li>2 Years Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software</li><li>Trustworthy and dependable, with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience working with nonprofit organizations</li><li>Familiarity with grant-funded programs and reporting</li><li>Experience supporting audits or financial compliance processes</li><li>Experience with 1099 reporting and General Excise Tax (GET) compliance</li><li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (Equivalent experience may be considered)</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Meaningful work supporting youth and communities throughout Hawaiʻi</li><li>Collaborative and mission-driven team environment</li><li>Flexible work environment where appropriate</li><li>The chance to contribute to innovative programs at the intersection of culture, education, music, and community impact</li></ul>To apply:1) Check to see if you meet the minimum qualifications.2) If you do, email recruitment@manamaoli.org &ndash; in the subject heading, please enter the position you are applying for, followed by your name.3) Attach a resume and cover letter, which can speak to why you are applying, and any skills/experiences that show your qualifications for the position(s) you are applying for, especially if not evident in your resume.4) Please give an honest self-assessment, based on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being no experience, and 10 being extremely experienced/skilled:<ul><li>Overall bookkeeping experience</li><li>Experience/competency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets</li><li>Experience with QuickBooks</li><li>Experience with nonprofit grant accounting</li></ul>Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Work from home</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Honolulu, HI 96822
