The position will also support the Finance Manager in driving business performance through revenue enhancement and effective cost control.Tasks and responsibilities:1. Credit Policy &amp; Governance<ul><li>Develop and implement credit control policies, procedures, and approval matrices.</li><li>Evaluate credit worthiness of customers using financial analysis, credit reports, trade references, and internal policies.</li><li>Review and recommend customer credit limits to management.</li><li>Ensure compliance with company credit policy, IFRS requirements, and audit standards.</li></ul>2. Customer Credit Management<ul><li>Conduct credit checks for new customers and periodic reviews of existing customers.</li><li>Monitor ageing of receivables and identify high-risk customers.</li><li>Approve or recommend terms of payment, credit periods, and special arrangements.</li><li>Work closely with commercial teams on onboarding processes and customer risk assessment.</li></ul>3. Collections &amp; Receivables Management<ul><li>Lead, manage, and motivate the collections team to ensure timely receipt of outstanding payments.</li><li>Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly collections performance.</li><li>Implement proactive collection strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).</li><li>Ensure timely follow-up of overdue accounts and initiate escalation protocols.</li><li>Handle complex or major customer accounts directly.</li></ul>4. Dispute Resolution/Legal<ul><li>Identify and resolve billing, pricing, delivery, and contract-related disputes affecting collections.</li><li>Coordinate with sales, finance, operations, and customer service teams to resolve customer queries/credit notes.</li><li>Ensure timely issuance of credit notes and debit notes as per approval policies.</li><li>Liaison with external lawyers in taking legal action against defaulting customers, follow up on the cases and periodic meeting with lawyers to discuss various actions to recover the dues.</li></ul>5. Reporting &amp; Analysis<ul><li>Prepare monthly ageing analysis, DSO reports, forecasted collections, and overdue analysis reports.</li><li>Highlight red flags, doubtful debts, and slow-moving accounts to management.</li><li>Assist in provisioning for doubtful debts as per IFRS.</li><li>Present monthly performance PowerPoint for MBR.</li></ul>6. Process Improvement &amp; Systems<ul><li>Enhance automation of collections processes through ERP, CRM, or credit control systems.</li><li>Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce disputes, and strengthen controls.</li><li>Ensure accurate customer master creation and maintenance.</li></ul>7. Team Management<ul><li>Lead and supervise the credit control and collections team.</li><li>Provide training, coaching, and development for team members.</li><li>Set KPIs for team performance and monitor results.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies:<ul><li>Strong knowledge of credit management principles, financial analysis, and risk assessment.</li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>High level of analytical ability and commercial acumen.</li><li>Strong command of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/), Excel, and reporting tools.</li><li>Ability to manage pressure, deadlines, and difficult conversations professionally.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.</li><li>Professional qualifications (CMA/ACCA/CPA/CFA) an added advantage.</li><li>5&ndash;10 years of experience in credit control, receivables, or finance operations.</li><li>Experience in managing collections for large key accounts and high transaction volumes.</li><li>Prior experience in contracting and Construction industries preferred.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

The successful candidate will be responsible for contacting individuals or businesses with overdue accounts, Support the credit control team with timely collection of customer payments and submit the invoices.
