Position Summary:
<div>
The Sprinkler Technician at Marmic Fire and Safety is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This role involves working on various fire protection systems, including sprinkler and hose systems, fire mains, underground systems, and closed valves. The technician will perform detailed inspections and tests to ensure system compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, identify and repair defective components, and make necessary modifications to optimize system performance. This position requires working on residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure all sprinkler systems are effective in providing reliable fire protection.</div>
Core Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing:</div><ul><li>
Perform comprehensive inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.</li><li>
Identify and document system deficiencies, malfunctions, or areas requiring improvement.</li></ul><div>
System Maintenance and Repair:</div><ul><li>
Conduct routine maintenance on sprinkler systems, including adjustments and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance.</li><li>
Recommend and coordinate major repairs or system upgrades as needed.</li></ul><div>
Pipe Installation and Assembly:</div><ul><li>
Select appropriate pipe sizes and materials, measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading, and assemble and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings.</li><li>
Turn off existing systems to secure new pipes, weld and solder pipes to create joints, and attach pipes to fixtures.</li></ul><div>
Layout and Modifications:</div><ul><li>
Create layout drawings of full-scale piping systems, cut and bore holes in pipes according to blueprints and specifications.</li><li>
Clean and modify existing sprinkler systems to ensure they meet current standards and function efficiently.</li></ul><div>
Documentation and Reporting:</div><ul><li>
Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspection results, maintenance activities, and repairs.</li><li>
Prepare and deliver clear, comprehensive reports to clients, outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.</li></ul><div>
Client Interaction:</div><ul><li>
Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection results, address concerns, and provide professional advice on system improvements.</li><li>
Foster positive relationships with clients through excellent customer service and responsive problem-solving.</li></ul><div>
Compliance and Safety:</div><ul><li>
Ensure all inspection and maintenance activities adhere to established safety standards and industry best practices.</li><li>
Follow company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.</li></ul><div>
Process Improvement:</div><ul><li>
Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes and service delivery.</li><li>
Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and enhance overall efficiency.</li></ul><div>
Troubleshooting and Knowledge:</div><ul><li>
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with sprinkler systems effectively.</li><li>
Apply practical engineering knowledge and stay informed about NFPA codes, standards, and plumbing codes to ensure compliance and high-quality service.</li></ul><div></div><div><i><br>

Minimum Qualifications:
<ul><li>3+ years of relevant work experience.</li><li>
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a professional attitude.</li><li>

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Proven customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors.</li><li>
Ability to speak and write in English.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.</li><li>
Proficiency in using hand tools, welding, and soldering equipment.</li><li>
High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license with a clean driving record.</li><li>
Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, with ongoing compliance throughout employment.</li><li>
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving equipment over 50 lbs, and working in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, using high lift equipment, and working in confined spaces.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul><li>NICET II Certification in Fire Protection Systems or CSA</li><li>
Backflow certification or license.</li><li>
Hydrant ITM &amp; Repair</li><li>
ABPA Certification Preferred</li><li>
Phoenix Repair Certification Preferred</li><li>
Advanced understanding of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.</li><li>
Experience managing inspection projects, including scheduling and coordination.</li><li>
In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, as well as plumbing codes and standards.</li><li>
Additional safety certifications or training, such as OSHA certifications or equivalent.</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.</li></ul>
