<div><div>The Sidarala Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join a dynamic research program focused on understanding how mitochondrial dynamics regulates pancreatic &beta;-cell function, aging, and diabetes. The successful candidate will contribute to projects investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying type 2 diabetes using cutting-edge molecular biology and imaging approaches.<br>

<br>
<b>Primary Responsibilities</b><br>
The Research Assistant will:<br>
<ul><li>Manage and maintain mouse colonies, including colony organization, record keeping, and health monitoring</li><li>Establish breeding schemes and genotyping workflows to generate experimental mouse cohorts</li><li>Assist with and perform in vivo studies, including animal handling, injections, metabolic phenotyping, glucose and insulin tolerance tests, blood and tissue collection, and other physiological assessments (training provided as needed)</li><li>Perform pancreatic islet isolations from mice (training provided as needed)</li><li>Perform molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, and genotyping</li><li>Conduct biochemical assays including Western blotting, ELISA, insulin secretion assays, and enzyme activity measurements</li><li>Prepare laboratory reagents and solutions, maintain laboratory equipment, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures</li><li>Organize, analyze, and maintain accurate records of experimental data using electronic laboratory notebooks</li><li>Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to manuscript preparation and grant applications as appropriate</li></ul><br>

Research Assistant

<div><div><b>Position Summary: </b>The Navigator is responsible for providing comprehensive case management, care coordination, outreach, and navigation services to transition-age youth and young adults (ages 16&ndash;26). The Youth Navigator serves as a trusted partner, helping participants identify strengths, overcome barriers, and access coordinated services that promote health, education, employment, housing stability, behavioral health, and overall well-being.The Youth Navigator will build collaborative relationships with community providers, educational institutions, workforce partners, healthcare organizations, and social service agencies to ensure participants receive timely, coordinated, and person-centered care. This position utilizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and youth-driven practices to empower young adults toward self-sufficiency and long-term success.<br>
<b>Essential Functions</b><br>
</div><ul><li>Conduct outreach and engagement activities to identify and connect with eligible youth and young adults through schools, community organizations, healthcare providers, workforce partners, and community events.</li>
<li>Complete participant intake, screening, strengths-based assessments, and eligibility determination for COE services.</li>
<li>Develop individualized service and goal plans in collaboration with participants, incorporating education, employment, health, behavioral health, housing, transportation, and other supportive service needs.</li>
<li>Provide ongoing care coordination through regular meetings, follow-up contacts, home or community visits (as appropriate), and progress monitoring.</li>
<li>Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, providing guidance, advocacy, encouragement, and system navigation throughout their participation in the COE.</li>
<li>Coordinate referrals and facilitate access to internal and external resources, ensuring warm handoffs and continuity of care.</li>
<li>Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with community agencies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, behavioral health organizations, employers, and workforce development programs.</li>
<li>Monitor participant progress toward established goals and modify service plans as needed.</li>
<li>Assist participants with crisis intervention, problem-solving, and barrier reduction while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records, case notes, assessments, referrals, and outcomes in accordance with agency policies and funding requirements.</li>
<li>Collect program data and assist with quality improvement initiatives, grant reporting, and performance outcome measures.</li>
<li>Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, trainings, and community collaborative meetings.</li>
<li>Represent the Center of Excellence at outreach events, networking opportunities, and community presentations.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of local resources, emerging community needs, and best practices in youth engagement and care coordination.</li>

Youth Navigator

<div><div>The Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in developing and executing strategic initiatives to support student recruitment and marketing efforts for the School of Pharmacy (SOP). This position combines leadership, planning, and communication responsibilities to enhance enrollment, promote the SOP brand, and engage prospective students through various channels and events. Responsibilities include oversight of student recruitment, including executing school visits, coordinating recruitment events, management of CRM software, and providing guided informational tours for prospective students. Utilize systems such as Banner, MUBert, PharmCAS, Word, Excel, Salesforce and other relevant technologies. Travel, including some overnight travel, is an essential part of the recruitment efforts of this position.<br>
</div><div>Additionally, this position will assist in the creation and production of marketing and communication materials across digital, social media, email, print, and other platforms. Maintain and develop SOP marketing content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and media releases. Manage communication efforts and ensure dissemination of accurate and pertinent information. Maintain an active presence on social media platforms, including graphic design and content development.<br>
