<div>JOB SUMMARY 
The Plant Lead &ndash; Foreman is a critical leadership role responsible for the day-to-day oversight of asphalt plant production and the frontline management of the plant crew. Acting as a 'working supervisor,' this individual bridges the gap between management objectives and field execution. The primary focus is to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) while fostering a culture of operational excellence.
This role requires a deep technical understanding of asphalt plant mechanics (drums, silos, burners, and conveyors) and the ability to lead a diverse team of operators and laborers in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Plant Operators, Laborers, and Mobile Equipment Operators.</li><li>
Assist in the planning and execution of daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer demands and project deadlines.</li><li>
Provide ongoing coaching, conduct annual performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain Martin Marietta&rsquo;s standards.</li><li>
Lead the onboarding and task-training of new hires, ensuring all personnel are cross-trained in plant operations and mobile equipment.</li><li>
Monitor the entire production cycle&mdash;from feed to HMA storage&mdash;making real-time adjustments to burner settings, feed rates, and mix designs to optimize output.</li><li>
Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) department to ensure all mixes meet state (DOT) and local specifications. Conduct visual inspections and monitor automated plant controls for consistency.</li><li>
Oversee the receipt of raw materials (liquid asphalt and additives) and manage parts and supply inventory to prevent production downtime.</li><li>
Actively lead the company&rsquo;s 'Guardian Angel' safety culture. Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and routine site inspections.</li><li>
Ensure the plant operates in strict accordance with OSHA regulations, as well as local environmental permits (air quality, dust control, and spill prevention).</li><li>
Identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and lead the reporting and investigation of any 'near misses' or safety incidents.</li><li>
Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and execute routine maintenance on plant machinery, including greasing, belt replacements, and wear-part inspections.</li><li>
Maintain Martin Marietta&rsquo;s world-class housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, professional, and hazard-free work environment.</li><li>
Accurately complete daily production reports, safety logs, maintenance records, and employee time-entry (payroll).</li><li>
Maintain constant communication with the Sales team and Project Superintendents regarding mix availability and loading times.</li></ul> 
QUALIFICATIONS 
Education 
High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience 
Work Experience 
4+ years of experience in Asphalt Plant Operations or Asphalt, with at least 1 year in a Supervisory/Leadership capacity, preferred.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS 
Physical Requirements 
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet. 
Working Conditions 
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs. 
Union 
We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $35.44+. Membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No, 9andnbsp;is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.</div>

Asphalt Plant Foreman

<div>Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated CDL Mechanic/Lube Tech to join our team. The individual hired into this position would be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on diesel-powered mobile equipment including troubleshooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment. This will be located at our Woodbine Quarry in Chapman, KS.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant mobile equipment including CAT, Komatsu and Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engines</li><li>

Work Environment
This is a full-time position that regularly requires 40+ hours per week in a surface mine setting. This role frequently operates heavy equipment.

CDL Mechanic/Lube Tech

Martin Marietta is seeking a Off Highway Haul Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating haul trucks loaded with rock within the quarry. The Off-Highway haul truck driver will perform various maintenance duties in the quarry, safely and efficiently operate the pit and yard loaders, perform daily pre-shift inspections, and perform minor maintenance and repairs on the haul truck. Hours are 6:00 am - 2:00 pm including weekends and overtime as necessary.
A typical day for a(n) Off Highway Haul Truck Driver may include:<ul><li>
Operating a haul truck within the company guidelines and safety standards</li><li>
Participating in safety inspections, plant safety program, and follows company and MSHA safety rules and regulations</li><li>
Aiding in loader production by breaking down surge piles and maintains product pile as needed</li><li>
Performing pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor</li><li>
Performing preventative maintenance, services mobile equipment, and is responsible for good housekeeping of equipment</li><li>
Operating other equipment such as pit and yard loaders in a safe manner as needed</li><li>
Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed</li><li>
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor</li></ul>
