Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated attorney to join her management team as the Chief of the Western Massachusetts Regional Office (WMASS) located in Springfield, Massachusetts. Employees of the WMASS Office handle legal matters from various areas of the Attorney General&rsquo;s Office (AGO), including the Government, Public Protection, Health Care and Fair Competition, Energy and Environment, and Criminal Bureaus. The WMASS Office also provides on-site assistance to residents with labor, civil rights, and consumer issues, including providing consumer mediation services, and serves as a regional hub for the implementation of AGO-wide priorities that involve community outreach, education and policy initiatives. 
Primary Duties :
 
The Chief of the WMASS Office is responsible for the overall administration, management, and direction of the regional office and for supervision of all its business. The Chief supervises and directs an office comprised of Assistant Attorneys General, civil investigators, inspectors, consumer mediators, victim witness advocates, community outreach coordinator, Massachusetts State Police, paralegals, and administrative staff; reviews and assigns WMASS Office caseload; oversees case management and reporting requirements; assists in developing and implementing community education, training, and outreach programs; and is responsible for reporting on WMASS Office activities to the Attorney General and her executive staff. 
The Chief is also expected to handle a moderate caseload of litigation matters. The Chief works directly with Bureau Chiefs of the Attorney General&rsquo;s Office to coordinate substantive legal matters and cross-bureau initiatives as well as lead the efforts of WMASS staff to implement office-wide priorities and to respond to systemic concerns unique to the region. Because certain WMASS staff also report directly to division managers in Boston, including the Fair Labor, Civil Rights, Consumer Protection, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Trial, Neighborhood Renewal, Civil Investigations, Consumer Response and Advocacy, False Claims, and the Criminal Divisions, the Chief coordinates staff supervision with managers of those divisions. The Chief serves as the Office&rsquo;s liaison with local public officials and community organizations throughout the region. 
 
 
Position Requirements :
<ul><li>Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or eligible for admission by motion.
</li><li>Experienced attorney with substantial litigation experience in both federal and state courts.
</li><li>Prior management experience with the ability and desire to supervise a diverse professional and support staff.
</li><li>Effective communication, interpersonal, and management skills as well as a proven record of sound judgment and decision making.
</li><li>Significant knowledge of and familiarity with the region served by the WMAS Office.
</li><li>Ability to professionally represent the Attorney General in presentations and meetings involving consumer groups, local officials, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations.
</li><li>Ability to successfully work with the public, the private bar, courts, and other legal and government institutions.

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated attorney with extensive prosecutorial experience to join her management team as Division Chief of the Enterprise &amp; Major Crimes Division in the Attorney General&rsquo;s Criminal Bureau. The division is staffed by a group of experienced prosecutors who partner with intelligence analysts, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Attorney General&rsquo;s Office, and local, state, and federal investigative and enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute large-scale narcotics trafficking organizations throughout the Commonwealth. 
Primary Duties : The Division Chief will manage the division&rsquo;s Assistant Attorneys General and other staff. Supervisory responsibility will include overseeing the investigation and prosecution of cases, reviewing search warrants sought in connection with investigations, and mentoring division staff and assisting them with advanced skills development. The Division Chief will also handle his or her own caseload of primarily narcotics and firearms-related matters from investigation through sentencing. The work involves extensive collaboration with law enforcement, grand jury investigations throughout the Commonwealth, complex motion practice, and frequent appearances before the Commonwealth&rsquo;s District and Superior Courts for motions, pleas, and trials. The Division Chief will be expected to communicate effectively with outside agencies, and to maintain and cultivate those relationships. 
Position Requirements :
<ul><li>Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or be eligible for admission in short order.
</li><li>At least seven (7) years of full-time legal experience, including handling narcotics-related investigations and prosecution, is preferred. Extensive experience and knowledge in reviewing search warrants and wiretap warrants or other complex criminal litigation is desired.
</li><li>Prior management and/or supervision experience required.
</li><li>Significant trial experience and grand jury experience required.
</li><li>Demonstrated motivation to serve the public interest.
</li><li>Ability and desire to be a part of a highly active team, and to handle multiple complex and challenging priority matters simultaneously.
</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
</li><li>Excellent legal writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to develop and strengthen the written work of the Division.

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell seeks a highly motivated attorney to join her Office&rsquo;s Consumer Protection Division as an Assistant Attorney General. The Division enforces the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (M.G.L. c. 93A) and seeks to protect consumers from abusive practices in debt collection, automobile sales, mortgage lending, and student lending, among many other areas. Racial justice is a strategic priority of the Office, and we aim to serve the most vulnerable consumers in the Commonwealth. 
 
 
Primary Duties : The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) in the Consumer Protection Division will be responsible for identifying problematic business practices that negatively impact consumers, evaluating their suitability for enforcement, and ultimately, investigating and litigating civil actions on behalf of the Commonwealth, where appropriate. The AAG will be expected to develop and implement concrete strategies for remedying industrywide consumer abuses and may also have the opportunity to participate in legislative and regulatory policy development at both the state and federal levels. The AAG may also have opportunities to join civil litigation teams challenging federal actions that harm the Commonwealth and its residents. 
 
 
Position Requirements :

Pursuant to G.L. c. 12, &sect; 11E, ERA advocates on behalf of the customers of Massachusetts&rsquo; electric, gas, and water companies. ERA&rsquo;s mission includes holding utilities accountable for providing just and reasonable rates; advocating for a smart, cost-effective and equitable clean energy transition; and protecting consumers from predatory energy companies. 
Primary Duties: The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for performing legal work for ERA, which includes serving as lead or co-counsel in litigation before the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and federal and state courts; preparing briefs and other associated litigation and regulatory documents; conducting in-depth analysis and preparing legal memoranda regarding energy, water, or other regulatory-related topics; hiring and working with subject matter experts; interpreting laws and regulations; providing legal advice; strategizing and developing case-related action plans; and investigating and prosecuting civil energy enforcement cases. 
Position Requirements:

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated person to join the Victim Services Division as a Victim Witness Advocate. Members of the Victim Services Division (VSD) are the primary liaisons for victims and witnesses in cases, investigations, and post-conviction federal habeas matters handled by the Attorney General&rsquo;s Office. 
The primary goals of the VSD are: (1) to provide crisis assessment and intervention to crime victims and witnesses; (2) to reduce the level of secondary victimization associated with victims&rsquo; and witnesses&rsquo; involvement in the criminal justice system and other collateral systems; (3) to assist in the investigation and prosecution of crimes by fostering an effective, supportive, and positive relationship with victims and witnesses; and (4) to ensure that crime victims and witnesses are provided with the rights and services mandated by M.G.L. c. 258B. The Victim Witness Advocates (VWA&rsquo;s) aid in investigations, prosecutions, and post-conviction hearings by working closely with victims and witnesses throughout the criminal justice process. VSD works with all the divisions within the Criminal Bureau, as well as other select divisions across the Office. 
 
 
Primary Duties :
The Victim Witness Advocate is responsible for providing information, support, and advocacy services to victims, witnesses, and their families throughout the criminal justice process at the District Court level. The ability to work with victims and witnesses on criminal cases. Duties include, but are not limited to: 
<ul><li>Working with Assistant Attorneys General, investigators, law enforcement partners, support service providers, and Trial Court personnel in the district court to ensure that victims receive rights they are entitled to as established in the Massachusetts Victim Bill of Rights (M.G.L. c. 258B).
</li><li>Providing daily in-court support during all hearings and trials. This includes providing daily information, updates, and advocacy services to victims, witnesses, and their families throughout the criminal justice process at the district court level.
</li><li>Reading daily ASCISS reports in anticipation of arraignments that may be coming into the district court for the day. Reach out to victims and witnesses prior to arraignments.
</li><li>Assisting victims with filling out 209A/258E restraining/harassment order applications and providing in court support through those processes.
</li><li>Placing victims on Bail Notification when necessary.
</li><li>Providing crisis intervention, safety planning, and support service referrals for victims to other state and community agencies.
</li><li>Responding to victim/witness inquiries, assess needs, and determine necessary support resources.
</li><li>Coordinating interpreter services for victim and witnesses.
</li><li>Providing victims and witnesses with post disposition services such as notification of release, CORI certification, SORB registration, and Probation information.
</li><li>Maintaining an assigned caseload, physical case files, and updates in OnBase with victim/witness information.
</li>Communicating with Superior Court Advocates on cases that will be considered for indictment.

</li></ul>Position Requirements :
<ul><li>Minimum of one to three years of experience in victim witness advocacy within the criminal justice system or other related work, such as experience in crisis intervention or human support services.
</li><li>Specialized experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement, prosecutors, investigators, and community victim service providers is required.
</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
</li><li>Ability to perform duties in the district court in person Monday through Friday.
