The Office of the Attorney General is looking for a highly motivated individual to support the work of the Gaming Enforcement Division within the Criminal Bureau. The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide team of prosecutors, investigators, and administrative and other staff, partnered with the Massachusetts State Police, and charged with investigating and prosecuting gaming-related crimes, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 12, &sect; 11M. 
 
 
Primary Duties : The Paralegal will provide day-to-day paralegal and administrative support to employees of the Gaming Enforcement Division (GED) as well as the Criminal Bureau. These duties will include the following responsibilities: 
<ul><li>Research policy and legal matters pertinent to GED initiatives.
</li><li>Draft administrative, grand jury, and trial subpoenas, as well as witness summons, discovery, and preservation orders at the direction of prosecutors.
</li><li>Track referrals, investigations, and prosecutions for GED.
</li><li>Support grand jury work by preparing documents and analyzing returns to help develop investigations.
</li><li>Support litigation matters by creating discovery, as well as scheduling business and law enforcement witnesses.
</li><li>Analyze digital evidence in furtherance of investigations and prosecutions.
</li><li>Assist in the coordination of trainings and assembly of training materials.
</li><li>Organize and deposit seized monies, as well as track seizure and forfeiture processes.
</li><li>Maintain Office databases, such as the Criminal Bureau&rsquo;s Usuary Database.
</li>Perform other duties, as required.

</li></ul>All employees assigned to the Gaming Enforcement Division are subject to the Enhanced Code of Ethics adopted pursuant to M.G.L. c. 12, &sect; 11M(c). 
Position Requirements :
<ul><li>Associate or bachelor&rsquo;s degree or an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience, required.
</li><li>Demonstrate interest, and understanding of, the sensitive nature of working on investigations involving organized and public corruption crimes.
</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
</li><li>Analytical skills, sound judgement, and excellent attention to detail.
</li><li>Proficiency with technology, computers, and Microsoft Office programs.
</li>Ability to travel across the Commonwealth, including weekly travel to Boston Office and Malden District Court.

Position Type : Full-Time/Non-Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office. 
 
 
Salary: $55,375

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated Assistant Attorney General to join the Health Care Division within the Health Care &amp; Fair Competition Bureau. The Health Care Division enforces the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (M.G.L. c. 93A) and other Massachusetts laws protecting health care consumers. Recent litigation matters brought by the Division have involved drug pricing, the opioid crisis, marketing by health care providers and insurers, and challenges to federal actions that harm the Commonwealth and its residents. The Division also promotes health care access, affordability, and equity, and assists consumers with health care issues through its mediation program. 
Primary Duties : The Assistant Attorney General will lead and assist with complex consumer protection investigations and litigations involving entities and individuals in the health care sector. Key investigative responsibilities include conducting interviews, obtaining documents and taking testimony through civil investigative demands, handling settlement negotiations, and preparing for litigation. Litigation responsibilities include handling pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, trial, settlement, and all other aspects of litigation. 
The Assistant Attorney General may have opportunities to join AGO civil litigation teams challenging federal actions that harm the Commonwealth and its residents. The Assistant Attorney General may also work with Assistant Attorneys General from other states on complex cases relating to a variety of issues. 
The Assistant Attorney General may be involved in health policy work, including monitoring trends related to the cost of health care in Massachusetts and drafting or reviewing proposed legislation. 
Position Requirements :
<ul><li>Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for admission by motion.
</li><li>At least three (3) years of post-JD litigation, health law, consumer law, or equivalent experience preferred.
</li><li>Previous experience in health law is desired but not required.
</li><li>Excellent writing, legal analysis, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
</li><li>Ability to quickly grasp complex legal, business, and financial concepts.
</li><li>Ability to collaborate and represent the Office with internal and external stakeholders.
</li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
</li>Demonstrated commitment to practicing law in the public interest.

WHITE COLLAR &amp; PUBLIC INTEGRITY DIVISION 
 
The Attorney General&rsquo;s Office is looking for a highly motivated Assistant Attorney General of integrity and commitment to public service to serve as a prosecutor in the White Collar &amp; Public Integrity Division of the Criminal Bureau. 
This Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for handling a broad range of criminal cases, spanning financial crime and public corruption offenses. Financial crime includes fiduciary embezzlement by professionals, complex financial frauds, and tax fraud schemes. Public corruption includes a broad array of schemes involving public officials, public institutions, and public funds. The Criminal Bureau is staffed by a group of experienced prosecutors who partner with financial investigators, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Attorney General&rsquo;s Office, and local, state, and federal investigative and enforcement agencies. 
 
 
Primary Duties : The Assistant Attorney General will assume an existing caseload of substantive prosecutions and investigations, as well as responsibility for handling new assignments that include initial review and screening of allegations, formal grand jury investigations, and prosecutions up to and including trial. Assistant Attorneys General in the White Collar &amp; Public Integrity Division are charged with leading and coordinating the efforts of a prosecutorial team that typically includes a financial investigator, a state trooper, a victim/witness advocate, and support staff. Additional functions may include but are not limited to: (a) conducting joint investigations with other federal, state, and local referral agencies, prosecutorial organizations, and/or law enforcement agencies; (b) aiding the investigative and prosecutorial efforts of others within the Division; and (c) providing leadership and oversight of other team members&rsquo; contributions to case prosecutions. 
 
 
Position Requirements : 
<ul><li>A member of the Massachusetts bar or eligible for admission in short order.
</li><li>Minimum of seven years of full-time legal experience, including significant experience as a prosecutor or defense attorney, in white collar or other complex criminal litigation, preferred.
</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to serving the public interest.
</li><li>Ability and desire to handle multiple complex and challenging priority matters simultaneously.
</li><li>Ability to successfully manage all members of a large internal and external investigative team, develop strong working relationships with outside agencies, and effectively represent the Commonwealth and the Attorney General before federal and state courts, agencies, and the public.
</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
</li><li>A valid Massachusetts driver&rsquo;s license is required, as travel is necessary to various courts.
