You will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments, and conducting regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress.To be successful as a psychiatrist at MBI Health Services, you should have a strong passion for helping patients overcome and manage their mental health and substance addiction in underserved communities. If you are looking for a rewarding career in the mental health and substance addiction field, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:- Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, observations, and psychological testing- Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients &amp; assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients- Conduct therapy sessions and group activities to support patients' mental health and well-being as well as provide patients with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder.- Monitor and document patients' progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and complete all necessary clincial documentation in an accurate and timely manner- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as neededExperience:- Previous experience working in a mental health and SUD setting is REQUIRED- Knowledge of psychotherapy techniques and mental health and SUD counseling principles- Familiarity with medical documentation and record keeping procedures- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with mental health disorders and Substance Addictions- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a teamEducation:- Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency- Current and valid Board of Psychiatry certification and state license.- Licensed to practice medicine in state of California-Current DEA registrationNote: Please note this job description is a representation of the minimum level of knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
