Job Summary:</i></b></h2><p>
The Yard Crewmember will assist customers in the lumberyard, operate a forklift, stock products, and provide general store support.</p><p></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><i>
Supervisory Responsibilities:</i></b></h2><ul><li>
None.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><i>
Duties/Responsibilities:</i></b></h2><ul><li>
Greets customers as they enter the yard.</li><li>
Loads and unloads products into customers, vendors, and company vehicles safely and accurately.</li><li>
Responds to customer&rsquo;s questions regarding products.</li><li>
Informs store management or supervisor of any customer complaints or requests in a timely manner.</li><li>
Moves, stocks, and rearranges building materials in the yard, warehouse, and interior of store.</li><li>
Performs routine safety checks on forklifts according to company guidelines.</li><li>
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the lumberyard and warehouses, by stacking products squarely and picking up bands, chocks, and trash.</li><li>
Verifies customer or vendor ticket matches the merchandise that is being loaded.</li><li>
Covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage.</li><li>
Cuts lumber and other related materials as requested by the customer.</li><li>
Operates a forklift.</li><li>
Attends all store meetings and training sessions.</li><li>
Performs other related duties as assigned.
</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><i>Required Skills/Abilities:</i></b></h2><ul><li>
Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.</li><li>
Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.</li><li>
Knowledge of weight distribution and loading patterns.</li><li>
The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.</li><li>
Must successfully complete all company training and certification requirements regarding equipment usage, including obtaining McCoy&rsquo;s forklift certification.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><i>
Education and Experience:</i></b></h2><ul><li>
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.</li><li>
Forklift operator certification.</li><li>
Successful completion of on-the-job training; completing levels 1 and 2 of the positional training offered.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><i>
Physical Requirements:</i></b></h2><ul><li>
Prolonged periods of standing and moving around the yard and warehouse.</li><li>
Must be able to use the three point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.</li><li>
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, and push and/or pull 50 pound loads at a time.</li><li>
The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.</li><li>
May need to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>
Must be able to work in various types of weather.</li></ul><p></p><div><div><div><div><p>
