<div>The Transportation STNA is responsible for safely helping to transporting residents, patients, or clients to and from appointments, activities, and other designated locations in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living setting. The STNA ensures that passengers are transported in a timely, safe, and comfortable manner, adhering to all traffic laws and facility policies. The role also includes assisting passengers with mobility needs and ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained and clean.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>
Safe Transportation:<ul><li>
Transport residents or patients to medical appointments, social activities, and other outings as required by the facility.</li><li>
Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring punctual and safe arrival at destinations.</li><li>
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort, especially those with mobility challenges or using wheelchairs.</li></ul></li><li>
Passenger Assistance:<ul><li>
Assist residents or patients with getting in and out of vehicles, using lifts, ramps, or other assistive devices as needed.</li><li>
Ensure all passengers are properly secured, including the use of seat belts, wheelchair restraints, or other safety equipment.</li><li>
Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, patients, and staff, addressing any concerns or needs during transport.</li></ul></li><li>
Vehicle Maintenance:<ul><li>
Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure that vehicles are in safe working condition, checking fuel levels, tires, brakes, lights, and other critical components.</li><li>
Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel and ensure timely repairs or servicing.</li><li>
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, ensuring that the interior and exterior of the vehicle are clean, organized, and presentable.</li></ul></li><li>
Compliance and Safety:<ul><li>
Follow all state and local traffic laws, as well as facility policies and safety guidelines, when transporting residents or patients.</li><li>
Maintain proper documentation of transportation activities, including mileage logs, passenger lists, and vehicle maintenance records.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including appropriate licensing and certifications for the type of vehicle being operated.</li></ul></li><li>
Emergency Response:<ul><li>
Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations during transportation, such as vehicle breakdowns or medical issues, and communicate with the facility for guidance.</li><li>
Assist passengers during emergency situations, ensuring their safety and well-being.</li></ul></li><li>
Collaboration and Communication:<ul><li>
Communicate effectively with facility staff, nursing, and administrative personnel to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure residents are transported according to their care plans.</li><li>
Maintain open communication with residents and staff regarding any changes or delays in transportation schedules.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>
Licensure/Certification: Valid driver&rsquo;s license with a clean driving record and Licensed STNA in the state of Ohio.</li><li>
Experience: Previous experience as a STNA, especially in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is preferred.</li><li>
Skills:<ul><li>
Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and safe driving practices.</li><li>
Ability to operate vehicles equipped with lifts or ramps for passengers with mobility needs.</li><li>
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.</li><li>
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform routine inspections.</li></ul></li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
