Position OverviewThe Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and tracking materials and services required for drywall projects. This role ensures accurate and timely purchase orders, maintains cost controls, assists with change order requests, and supports project managers and field personnel to keep projects running efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing &amp; Procurement<ul><li>Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders for drywall materials, tools, equipment, and subcontracted services.</li><li>Source and evaluate vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality materials, and timely delivery.</li><li>Monitor inventory levels and coordinate deliveries to job sites based on project schedules.</li><li>Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and credit accounts.</li></ul>Cost Tracking &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Track material and labor costs against project budgets.</li><li>Monitor price fluctuations and report cost impacts to management.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of all purchases and cost data within company systems.</li><li>Assist project teams with cost forecasting and analysis.</li></ul>Change Order Management<ul><li>Create, document, and send requests for change orders to customers based on scope changes or additional material/labor needs.</li><li>Track the status of change orders and ensure approvals are received before proceeding.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers to verify accuracy of quantities, pricing, and descriptions.</li></ul>Project &amp; Field Support<ul><li>Work closely with project managers to ensure materials align with job requirements and schedules.</li><li>Assist field teams by coordinating special orders, handling delivery issues, and resolving material discrepancies.</li><li>Communicate proactively with internal teams regarding order status, delays, or issues that may affect project timelines.</li><li>Report status of all projects to the management weekly.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in purchasing, construction procurement, or a related field; drywall or construction industry experience preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction materials, especially drywall, framing, and related components.</li><li>Proficiency with purchase order and project management software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore) is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to analyze costs, read project documents, and understand job site requirements.</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong time-management abilities.</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Office-based role.</li><li>Fast-paced environment supporting multiple projects simultaneously.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekWork Location: In person
