Laser Maintenance Technician (HVAC Manufacturing)About the RoleMDM is hiring a Laser Maintenance Technician to maintain our fiber laser cutting cells and press brakes supporting high-mix, sheet-metal HVAC accessories and components as a part of our Maintenance team. As a part of the Maintenance team, the technician will support production continuity, ensure equipment safety and performance, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams.Equipment You&rsquo;ll OperateLaser Cutting<ul><li>Salvagnini L5-30</li><li>TRUMPF L95</li></ul>Press Brakes<ul><li>Accurpress 7606, 7608, 710010</li><li>Wysong MTH100-120, MTH60-120</li><li>Ermaksan Power Bend Falcon 4.2&times;66, Power-Bend Falcon 6.8&times;66, Speed Bend Pro 10.1&times;148</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Laser setup &amp; operation: Load programs, select material tables, set pierce/cut parameters, perform nozzle centering, focus checks, and lens inspection; verify kerf and edge quality.</li><li>Nesting &amp; programming: Create/modify nests (e.g., SigmaNEST / TruTops / MetaCAM or similar); optimize sheet utilization, micro-tabs, lead-ins/outs, and cut sequencing for cycle-time and quality.</li><li>Quality assurance: Measure parts to print using gauges, record first-article and in-process checks, and drive corrective actions with Engineering/Quality.</li><li>Press brake work: Set up tooling (punch/die selection), compute bend allowances, adjust back gauges, run brake programs, and ensure machines produce to tolerance.</li><li>Maintenance &amp; uptime: Execute autonomous maintenance (nozzles, lenses, mirrors, filters), basic alignment, escalate service needs, and log PMs to sustain OEE.</li><li>Troubleshooting: Resolve burrs, dross, taper, warping, and edge oxidation; tune feed rate, frequency, gas type/pressure, and focal position for varying alloys/gauges etc.</li><li>Safety: Lockout/Tagout, crane/hoist/forklift safe use, hot-surface and laser safety (Class 1/4 controls), proper PPE.</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Bring<ul><li>5+ years running and maintaining fiber laser cutters in a manufacturing setting; HVAC or sheet-metal products strongly preferred.</li><li>Hands-on experience with Salvagnini and/or TRUMPF lasers (or comparable) and multiple press brake brands (Accurpress, Wysong, Ermaksan).</li><li>Ability to read mechanical drawings (including GD&amp;T basics), shop math, and convert decimals/fractions quickly.</li><li>Proficiency with a nesting/CAM platform (SigmaNEST, TruTops, MetaCAM, or equivalent).</li><li>Solid understanding of cut parameter tuning (assist gases, focal length, power/feed), warp control, and heat input management.</li><li>Comfortable lifting/moving sheet stock and running forklifts/overhead cranes (company training provided).</li><li>Preferrred: OSHA-10, Forklift certification, Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing, preventive maintenance background.</li></ul>Metrics You&rsquo;ll Influence<ul><li>First-pass yield, scrap rate, on-time completions, OEE/uptime, sheets per hour, setup time, and rework/RMA reductions.</li></ul>Shift, Pay &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Shift: [Day / Night / Weekend] &mdash; [hours].</li><li>Compensation: Hourly DOE (overtime eligible) or Salary DOE.</li><li>Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO/holidays per company policy.</li><li>Location: Buschong but may rotate as needed.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Stand/walk for extended periods; lift/push/pull up to 50lbs; handle sheet edges; work around noise, fumes, and moving equipment (PPE provided).</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.46 - $30.67 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Houston, TX 77039 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Houston, TX 77039: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Willingness to travel:<ul><li>50% (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
