Works under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist. The physical therapist assistant implements selected components of patient interventions (treatment), obtains data related to the interventions provided, and makes modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient safety and comfort.</div><div>
Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:</div><div>
1. Implements the individualized plan of care as established by the physical therapist.<br>
2. Adjusts treatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data and observation within the established plan of care. Identifies need for changes in plan of care and communicates with supervising physical therapist.<br>
3. Assists the physical therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughout treatment.<br>
4. Supervises and delegates to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws and department policy.<br>
5. Completes legible, accurate, and clear documentation within the established timeframe identified in the department policy and procedure and in accordance with accreditation requirements and insurance regulations.<br>
6. Communicates with the patient, family, caregivers, significant others, and members of the health care team to promote maximum benefit of care utilizing AIDET.</div>
 <div><div><i>Required:</i></div><ul><li>Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.</li><li>Current state Board of Physical Therapist Assistant licensure.</li><li>BLS certification.</li></ul><div></div><div><i><br>
Preferred:</i></div><ul><li>One year of physical therapist assistant experience.</li></ul><div></div><div><i><br>

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Patient Service Center which includes but is not limited to opening and closing the service center, registering patients, ordering patient tests, collecting, handling, processing, and transporting specimens.</div><div>
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:<br>
1. Performs proper specimen collection [blood and non-blood], including patient preparation, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, transportation, and storage of specimens; complies with all standards for laboratory procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to evaluate and select proper collection methods for age specific patients.<br>
2. Completes specimen handling and processing including centrifuging all tubes and aliquoting.<br>
3. Arranges for specimen transport using established procedure.<br>
4. Collects, verifies, and processes patient registration data and test order/entry into hospital information system/laboratory information system and understanding of insurance plans.<br>
5. Adheres to Compliance policies related to job duties to include presenting Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) of non-coverage prior to delivery of outpatient services.<br>
6. Responsible for obtaining consent for treatment.</div>
