</div></div></div><div><div>Examine patients, obtain medical histories and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Counsel patients about illness, injuries, health conditions, and preventive healthcare. Acts independently, consistently exercises discretion and judgment.</div>

<div><b>Responsibilities:</b></div>

<ul><li> Provides medical care and conducts patient interviews, examinations, diagnosis, and rendering of appropriate medical or surgical treatment.</li></ul>
<div></div>
<ul><li> Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection through interpersonal communication and/or the provision of informational materials to patients and family members.</li></ul>
<div></div>
<ul><li> Assesses need for, and as may be clinically indicated, refers patients to additional health care providers for additional specialty care.</li></ul>
<div></div>
<ul><li> Assesses urgency of patient medical care needs in determining necessary follow-up schedule and/or referral/consultation appointments.</li></ul>
<div></div>
<ul><li> Exercises sound medical judgment in all issues pertinent to medical diagnosis and treatment on each patient&rsquo;s behalf.</li></ul>

<div></div><ul><li> Current Michigan license to practice medicine.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Obtain and maintain medical staff privileges at appropriate subsidiary hospital(s).</li></ul>
<ul><li> Board certification in area of specialty, where required.</li></ul>
