Mead &amp; Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm has a position available for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to work on Aviation projects based at our Middleton, WI office starting in May/June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026. This position will also require work at various project sites as assigned.</div><div></div><div><br>
The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and surveyors with civil engineering projects in the following areas:</div><ul><li>
Assisting engineers, design technicians, and surveyors with civil engineering projects</li><li>
Performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates</li><li>
Assisting with project report preparation</li><li>
Performing field inspection, documentation, and survey work</li><li>
Technical research and writing</li><li>
Other tasks as assigned.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
A valid driver&rsquo;s license, the ability to pass background check to gain access to airport sites, and frequent travel will be required.</div><div></div><div><br>
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university by date of hire.</div><div></div><div><br>
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:</div><ul><li>
Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software</li><li>
Construction Field experience including observation and documentation</li><li>
Understanding of basic grading and testing processes</li><li>
Knowledge of airport planning and/or design</li><li>
Survey tasks</li><li>

Designing low and medium voltage power, lighting systems and controls, fire alarm and detection systems</li><li>
Preparing construction document drawings using Revit
</li><li>Designing electrical systems using power design (EasyPower preferred)
</li><li>Using lighting calculations software (AGI32 preferred)
</li><li>Coordinating the preparation of construction document drawings and specifications
</li><li>Providing construction administration services and site visits related to electrical systems
