<div>Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a full time Customer Service Representative II to join our team at our Wedgewood Branch.
 
 
Under general supervision, independently performs basic to moderately complex banking transactions. Actively assists customers, pays close attention to detail, and offers referrals for additional products and services. Delivers excellent customer service. Responsible for the operational quality and accuracy of their work, including cash balancing processes. Follows all related policies and procedures and compliance with all banking regulations. Works with leadership team to achieve personal goals in the areas of deposit growth, business relationship growth, consumer relationship growth and operational soundness.At all times, provide superior customer service. 
What you will do:
Teller Activities:<ul><li>
Provides daily deposit services such as handling deposits, withdrawals, holds, loan payments, stop payments, telephone transfers, direct deposits, cash advances, verifications of deposit, Debit card requests, and other related matters.</li><li>
Maintains cash handling within prescribed limits, accurately count, receive and disburse cash, correctly handle mutilated and bait currency.</li><li>
Balances cash drawer independently, maintain cash over and short record within Mechanics Bank's compliance policy.</li></ul>
New Accounts/Sales Activities:
<ul><li>Familiar with all bank products and services. May occasionally be assigned new account responsibilities.</li><li>
Where appropriate, actively takes advantage of all sales opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services to new and existing customers, ensuring recommended products meet needs of customer. Make referrals to other business units for non-banking products.</li><li>
Participates in sales programs to generate new customers.</li><li>
Must sell financial products and services to meet referral goals and performance evaluation/personal goals.</li><li>
Obtains profitability and personal goals outlined in both incentive programs and performance evaluations.</li></ul>
Service Activities:<ul><li>
Consistently demonstrates proficiency in providing exceptional customer service utilizing the STAR (Seamless, Trustworthy, Attentive, and Resourceful) qualities either in person or on the telephone.</li><li>
Actively listens to our customers by communicating the customer&rsquo;s value, thereby maintaining a friendly, positive and professional attitude.</li><li>
Resolves difficult situations using the HEAL guidelines of Hearing out the customer, Easing the tension, Acting to improve the situation, and Leaving a positive impression.</li><li>
Looks for ways to pleasantly surprise our customers, i.e., doing something above and beyond their expectation that makes them feel special.</li><li>
Participates in two community events per year</li></ul>
Operational Activities:
<ul><li>Performs responsibilities such as filing and maintaining signature cards and certificate copies.</li><li>
As requested, assists with branch audit functions.</li><li>
Follows Mechanics Bank&rsquo;s policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Performs all other duties as required.</li></ul>
Who you are:<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED required.</li><li>
1 year minimum Customer Service Experience required.</li><li>
1 year minimum Cash Handling Experience in Customer Facing Role required.</li><li>
Strong math and computer skills are required.</li><li>
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.</li><li>
Experience in a Banking Environment with Basic Knowledge of Bank Deposit Products and Services preferred.</li><li>
Demonstrates success in cross-selling banking services preferred.</li><li>
Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</li><li>
Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate and work well with employees and customers in a cooperative, positive manner.</li><li>
Must possess good judgment, and the ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.</li><li>
Ability to work quickly and accurately, to analyze information and make decisions.</li><li>
Requires ability to operate teller and office equipment including computers, adding machines, telephones, typewriters, copy machines, fax machines, electronic credit card authorization terminals, and security devices.</li><li>
Requires physical exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (1/3 of the time) and a negligible amount of force frequently (up to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move self or objects. Frequent (up to 2/3 of the time) standing. Walking, sitting, bending and reaching occasionally and for brief periods of time.</li></ul>

Pay Range: $21.30 - $27.71 hourly

Customer Service Representative II

<div>Mechanics Bank is looking for a Sr Universal Banker for the San Luis Obispo, CA Broad Street Branch. 
 
Under general supervision independently and accurately performs the full range of new account transactions according to established procedures. Identifies and closes ethical and appropriate sales and service opportunities for Retail Banking consumer and business customers and prospects, including deposit and lending products, additional banking services and external products through approved partners according to procedure. Performs senior level transactions including, but not limited to, complex account type account opening, account maintenance, customer problem resolution and business lending package reviews. May support teller line transactions, including cash handling and other operational duties such as approving transactions and providing dual control support within the branch as needed. Highly knowledgeable in banking products and services, as well as full compliance will all banking regulations and internal policies and procedures. Delivers excellent customer service and is a significant contributor to the branch sales performance. 
What you'll do:<ul><li>
Provides comprehensive deposit services to individuals and basic deposit services to fiduciary and businesses in a Retail Office.</li><li>
Opens new deposit accounts, promoting those that best meet the customer&rsquo;s needs and recommending the &ldquo;next most likely products&rdquo; to customers. Assists customers with account maintenance, on-line banking, and other basic account issues.</li><li>
Performs a variety of operational functions, as required.</li><li>
Maintains compliance with established internal operational standards and Federal and State regulations to protect the interests of the Bank and its clients. Completes required compliance training in a timely manner.</li><li>
Assesses customer&rsquo;s needs, and makes appropriate referrals to internal and external business partners.</li><li>
Accepts loan applications from clients, provides basic information regarding required documentation, and forwards applications to the appropriate employee.</li><li>
Assists Branch Manager and Customer Service Manager with all aspects of customer service and operations including transactions, work flow, deadlines, audit, compliance, client inquiries, and team member requests.</li><li>
May lead and direct the activities of Customer Service Representatives and other Universal Bankers.</li></ul>
Who you are:<ul><li>
Knowledge of Bank deposit products and services. &bull; Knowledge of Bank&rsquo;s standard loan products.</li><li>
The ability to analyze and apply the individual and small business banking needs with specific Bank services and products.</li><li>
Knowledge of retail office operations.</li><li>
A basic knowledge of alternative Bank services and products and vendor provided products.</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.</li><li>
Skill in attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>
Ability to persuade, including the value and benefits of using the Bank&rsquo;s services and products.</li><li>
Knowledge of fundamental applicable Federal and state banking regulations.</li></ul>
Certifications, Licensing, Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:
