The Department of Community Resources (DCR) through its Community Resource Center, supports the core departments of Mecklenburg County Health and Human Services (HHS) in doing their business through an integrated service delivery model of subject-matter experts from each core department and community partners who provide services to County residents in our HHS Community Resource Center. In addition, DCR is responsible for administering Child Support Services, Economic Services, MeckSuccess, HOMES, and Unified Workforce Development programs, as well as Integrated Health and Human Services Mail Services.
Position Specific Summary
The Customer Experience Specialist position will support the Department Monday &ndash; Friday on-site as telework is not provided. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide in-bound call center support to the Department.

Position Summary
The selected candidate will perform customer service work by providing information, handling customer inquiries, processing paperwork and answering questions. This position, under direct supervision, is responsible for interacting with new and existing customers regarding Mecklenburg County&rsquo;s Child Support Services. This position will also provide administrative back-up to clerical functions. 
Essential Functions
<div><div><div><div><ul><li> Greet, direct and screen customers for accessibility to all HHS programs and services helping as required.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Act as an initial point of contact for the HHS customer.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Process invoices, applications and conduct online database searches.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Identifying situations requiring escalation (to liaison, case worker, management, etc.)</li></ul>
<ul><li> Deescalate situations.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Intuitive to read the environment and respond appropriately.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Authentic interactions with customers.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Observant and aware of surroundings.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Must remain informed and knowledgeable of all programs and services offered within CRC including those offered by Community Organizations.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain personal and professional competency via trainings.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Determine which workflow steps and processes are needed to fulfill the customer&rsquo;s needs to help ensure that the customer&rsquo;s transactions are efficient and effective.</li></ul>

<ul><li> Maintain dialog with customers regarding expectations and experiences and use this feedback to improve service delivery.</li></ul>

Experience:
Minimum of two years of customer service or community service-related experience
Education:

POSITION SUMMARY 
Mecklenburg County Park &amp; Recreation Department is excited to add a Nurse to support our programming across Park and Recreation (including our Therapeutic &amp; Inclusive Recreation Services (TIRS) Division). This temporary position will work with internal and external customers on medication administration, illness management and education and managing other medical needs for our Park &amp; Recreation program participants. The incumbent will also provide support and education/training for staff on any medical needs, medication administration and care plans. This position will work on a PRN basis with schedule dependent on business and care needs. We anticipate the selected candidates will work approximately 20 hours per week, but this could vary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
<ul><li>Monitor, record, and report symptoms, medical information vital signs, or changes in patients' conditions.</li><li>Perform administrative duties as needed and maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.</li><li>Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs.</li><li>Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.</li><li>Assess the needs of individuals, families, or communities, including assessment of individuals' home or work environments, to identify potential health or safety problems.</li><li>Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.</li><li>Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.</li><li>Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement or evaluate patient care plans.</li><li>Provide health care, first aid, specified laboratory tests, physical examination, immunizations, or related assistance in various locations.</li><li>Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.</li><li>Consult with institutions or associations regarding issues or concerns relevant to the practice and profession of nursing.</li><li>Refer students or patient to specialized health resources or community agencies furnishing assistance.</li><li>Document patient history, related findings, and service performed along with necessary coding if in clinical assignment.</li><li>Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.</li><li>Administer local, inhalation, intravenous, or other anesthetics</li></ul></div> 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Registered Nurse (RN); Will consider recent RN BSN graduate with three (3) years health department work experience as an LPN
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited college. If a higher degree in Nursing was conferred without a BSN, employment may be possible with the stipulation that the incumbent successfully completes course work and exams for Principles and Practices of Public Health Nursing within one year.
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: No
Licenses/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in NC issued by the NC Board of Nursing or another Nurse Licensure Compact State; Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR &amp; AED) by the American Heart Association that is valid for at least 90 days after hire. Maintenance of this certification is required and as funds are available may be supported as part of employment; Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver&rsquo;s License and County Driving Privileges
