Job Objective:<ul><li>
To plan, supervise &amp; deliver highest standard of physiotherapy services to patients. Maximizes a patient's functional independence through thorough assessment, treatment planning, treatment implementation and treatment evaluation &amp; communicate assessment and treatment outcomes with the interdisciplinary team through documentation and team meetings.</li></ul>
Job Responsibilities:
 1) Continuum of Care<ul><li>
Ascertain appropriate information regarding the present problem</li><li>
Assess the patients current functional status</li><li>
Planning all treatment procedures</li><li>
Treatment implementation</li><li>
Treatment evaluation</li><li>
Ensures safe and effective discharge planning for all patients</li></ul>
 2)Leadership and Management<ul><li>
Participates in continuing education to update skills and knowledge in order to provide optimum level of patient care and student supervision.</li><li>
Ensures implementation of departmental policies and procedures</li><li>
Participates in Departmental and Organizational meetings, other meetings as required</li><li>
Actively participate in team activities</li><li>
Organizes and implement in-service training sessions for staff, the physiotherapy assistant and volunteers</li><li>
Teaches appropriately and supervises physiotherapy students and provide regular feedback and documentation of the clinical placement required</li></ul>
 3)Information Management<ul><li>
Manages and maintains information relevant to physiotherapy services</li><li>
Records accurate statistics within the last working day of each pay fortnight or as appropriate</li><li>
Notes written in patient&rsquo;s records according to Policy and Procedure manual within 24 hours of service</li><li>
Adheres to the policies for use of Information Technology</li><li>
Supervises the recording of statistics and documentation by the physiotherapy students</li><li>
Providing home care program &ndash; discharge instructions</li><li>
Documenting the patient details in register and entering the clinical notes in the HIS.</li><li>
Communicating with Consultant regarding the progress of the patient if required.</li></ul>
 4)Safe Practice and Environment<ul><li>
Adheres to safe work practices as per departmental and Health Policy and Procedures</li><li>
Teaches and maintains safe patient handling practices through skills training of relevant staff and careers.</li><li>
Be aware of safety/emergency procedures within the department.</li><li>
Adheres to infection control policies &amp; procedures</li><li>
Organizes appropriate maintenance of Physiotherapy equipment as required</li><li>
Creates and maintain a work environment which is safe for staff, patients and visitors</li></ul>
 5)Improving Performance<ul><li>
Pursues actively professional development and implements quality improvement practices</li><li>
Ensures continuous Quality Improvement through high quality work practices</li><li>
Assists in the implementation of department quality improvement activities</li><li>
Active participation in professional ongoing education and review of current literature</li><li>
Participates in regular in-service education</li><li>
Participates in regular supervision sessions with direct clinical supervisor</li></ul>

 Sound knowledge of NABL standards, LIS/HIS systems, and laboratory automation.

 Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary lab teams and ensure quality, accuracy, and timely reporting.
