<div><p>The <b>Medical College of Wisconsin&rsquo;s Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology </b>is seeking a <b>Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant</b> to provide primary or specialty medical care within the inpatient setting. This position is in <b>Milwaukee, WI </b>at Froedtert and MCW/CFAC, other Inpatient Units and 24 hour clinic. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.</p><p></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Position Highlights:</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Performs comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive and psychosocial status.</p></li><li><p>

Develops pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.</p></li><li><p>
Monitors effectiveness of plan of care.</p></li><li><p>

Department Specific Responsibilities</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring Hematology/Oncology/BMT intervention in inpatient environment and 24 hr clinic as a member of the HemOnc/BMT inpatient service.</p></li><li><p>
Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders.</p></li><li><p>
Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information.</p></li><li><p>
Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Hematology/Oncology/BMT services.</p></li><li><p>
Facilitates and communicates with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care.</p></li><li><p>
Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Join Commission.</p></li><li><p>
Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard.</p></li><li><p>
Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.</p></li><li><p>
Participates in ongoing clinical research projects related to the field of hematology/oncology/BMT</p></li><li><p>
Provide initial assessment and initial and immediate on-site management of patient needs at night in conjunction with corresponding fellows/attendings.
</p></li><li><p>Perform admission history and physical documentation, enter and communicate orders, perform comprehensive assessments, respond to nursing/other care giver concerns, initiate appropriate care and evaluate care outcomes</p></li><li><p>
Receives sign-out at the beginning of each shift, completes sign-out at the end of each shift, thereby facilitating communication with the daytime providers.

Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Inpatient 2 - Nocturnist

Perform coding and related duties using established billing office policies in an accurate and timely manner. Primary contact with physicians, department administrators, hospital and/or clinical department administrators and their support staff and billing staff. Coordinates professional service billings for selected clinical departments.</p><p></p><p><b>

The Data Science Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Physiology, at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a highly motivated Research Scientist to join a collaborative research team focused on ontology and data curation for diverse research communities. This role supports the Hogan Laboratory in the Data Science Institute and the Rat Genome Database in the Department of Physiology by developing, maintaining, enhancing, and implementing biomedical ontologies in various software, annotation, and data management applications. The incumbent will gain experience in the theory and practice of biomedical, health, and behavioral ontologies, including advanced ontology development workflows. The incumbent will also extract relevant information from published journal articles, research laboratories, and databases and integrate this information with existing data.</p><p></p><p>
A key project is the Advancing Prevention Research in Cancer through Ontology Tools (APRICOT) Project funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), working with behavioral scientists and ontologists across three other European sites. This project is developing ontologies and associated tools and resources to be used in reporting behavior research. This position will work on the development of the Ontology for Modeling and Representation of Social Entities (OMRSE) and its interoperability with the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology (BCIO).</p><p></p><p>
The position also is an integral team member of the Rat Genome Database (RGD). RGD is the dedicated NIH-funded knowledgebase for the laboratory rat, along with human and several mammalian disease models; RGD curates multiple genomic data types, comprehensive disease and phenotype annotations, and develops novel tools to effectively mine, analyze and visualize the available data. The incumbent will independently conduct data curation including data acquisition, ontology development, and analysis for research projects whose focus is to provide comprehensive disease, clinical and physiological data to diverse research communities. They will work with technical team members on the development of data analytic tools and pipelines, as well as provide input into database and user interface design.</p></div><div><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>

Research Scientist I

Work independently, under the general direction of the Program Director or designee and the Research and Policy Director at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) to support the data and statistical analysis needs related to reentry work at the DOC. This work will support research and analytical efforts related to community reentry from incarceration, but also other DOC-related initiatives. Collaborate on study design; data collection, management, analysis and visualization; interpretation of results; preparation of data summaries and reports; and publication and dissemination of analytical products and research findings. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data or analysis related issues.
