</p><p>We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented high school student to assist with ongoing health services research projects. The assistant will support data entry, basic data analysis, and general research tasks under the close supervision of faculty and staff. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to real-world research in a collaborative academic setting, particularly for students with an interest in economics, health policy, or data analysis.</p><p><b>
Primary Responsibilities
</b></p><ul><li>Accurately enter and review data in spreadsheets and research databases</li><li>
Conduct basic data quality checks and flag inconsistencies</li><li>
Assist with simple statistical analyses under guidance</li><li>
Support literature reviews and prepare brief summaries of key findings</li><li>
Participate in research team meetings, seminars, or workshops as appropriate</li><li>

As a <b>Postdoctoral Researcher</b>, according to the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), you will be an individual who has received a doctoral degree (or equivalent) and is engaged in a temporary and defined period of mentored advanced research training to enhance the professional skills and research independence needed to pursue his or her chosen career path. In addition, according to the National Postdoc Association (NPA), Postdoctoral appointees can pursue basic, clinical or translational projects so long as their primary effort is devoted toward their own scholarship. Postdocs are essential to the scholarly mission of the mentor and host institution, and thus are expected to have the freedom to publish the results of their scholarship.<br>

<b>Responsibilities</b><b><br>
</b></p><ul><li>Plan, design and execute complex research studies, procedures and protocols.</li><li>
Participate in discovery projects.</li><li>
Coordinate research study activities; lead and manage projects.</li><li>
Oversee organization, synthesis and analysis of data and findings.</li><li>
Prepare scientific reports, outcome findings and scientific manuscripts.
</li><li>Participate in meetings with principle investigator and research staff in which you will evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, and design and evaluate lab procedures.</li><li>
Maintain supplies, may require negotiation with vendors, and track purchase orders.</li><li>
May oversee the work of laboratory personnel including training and development as well as daily work direction, delegation and establishing priorities.</li><li>

In the role of an<b> International Scholars Immigration Specialist</b> you will be<b> </b>working in our Human Recources Department.</p><p><b><br>
Summary</b></p><p>
With limited direct supervision, independently perform SEVIS operations and provide direct support, onboarding, training and lead engagement with international learners for the Medical College of Wisconsin. Ensure all international scholars scholars possess proper and valid visa documentation and knowledge of legal requirements associated with their status. Independently maintain comprehensive immigration student records, including CPT/OPT. Maintain the integrity of the organization by making independent decisions involving immigration laws affecting foreign national learners of MCW. Support MCW&rsquo;s employer sponsored visa programs, as needed.</p><p><b><br>
Primary Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Serve as MCW&rsquo;s sole staff member dedicated to the processing of international scholars attending MCW.</li><li>
Manage all aspects of SEVIS operations for international students sponsored by MCW, including graduates engaged in CPT/OPT under authorization from MCW.</li><li>
Ensure compliance of all student immigration procedures and documentation.</li><li>
Provide direction, advice and guidance to international scholars, including conducting onboarding/training of international scholars and periodic training/education on relevant topics.</li><li>
Provide consistent communication on matters related to immigration to Deans and other academic leadership, Registrar and other constituencies within the institution.</li><li>
Process OPT and CPT requests and extensions, including verification of suitable employment in compliance with regulations.</li><li>
Act as a Notary Public for the HR office, verifying documents for foreign nationals throughout the organization.</li><li>
Represent MCW at local and regional/national NAFSA (International Association of International Educators) meetings; network with international advisors from other institutions on immigration policy issues.</li><li>
Conduct training sessions for MCW staff members interested in learning more about international scholar programs, immigration laws and regulations.</li><li>
Utilize numerous resources, such as the NAFSA manual and forums, immigration attorneys, internet searches and fellow international advisor contacts to research immigration-related questions posed by academic leaders, finance/administration, MCW department leaders or staff, or foreign nationals.</li><li>
Stay current on all new policies and regulations related to immigration; communicate new laws to MCW staff, faculty and students when appropriate and relevant.</li><li>
Maintain an Immigration/International Scholars Information website.</li></ul><br>

Strong communication skills (oral and written) with an ability to facilitate engaging discussions/presentations and create written reports. Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to collaborate in multiple and diverse projects. Strong project management and computer skills in Microsoft Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to develop new ideas by analyzing complex, multi-faceted information. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines. Technical knowledge of FERPA, F-1 visa regulations and J-1 program requirements. Knowledge of higher education operations, policies and best practices. Familiarity with MCW culture and ability to generally align talent and organizational development with MCW&rsquo;s mission and values as well as policies, procedures and practices. Attention to detail and focus on high-quality outcomes. Ability to work independently and come on campus as needed to serve learners.<br>
