As a working supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to a team of subrogation professionals while maintaining an active caseload of complex files. You will partner closely with claims leadership, legal counsel, and external experts to ensure timely investigations, effective recovery strategies, and high-quality claim outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Leadership & Team Development
 <ul>
<li>Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the subrogation team.</li>
<li>Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and exceptional service.</li>
<li>Partner with the Claims Consulting Manager to recruit, train, develop, and retain high-performing team members.</li>
<li>Establish clear performance expectations and conduct performance reviews aligned with MEM’s performance management process.</li>
<li>Support employee development, succession planning, and career growth initiatives.</li>
<li>Lead regular team meetings and individual coaching sessions to align priorities and share best practices.</li>
<li>Participate in claims leadership discussions and departmental initiatives.</li>
</ul>
Subrogation Operations & Recovery Management
 <ul>
<li>Oversee the execution of MEM’s subrogation program to maximize recovery opportunities and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Manage a personal caseload of complex and catastrophic subrogation files from investigation through resolution.</li>
<li>Develop and implement recovery strategies that balance financial outcomes with operational efficiency.</li>
<li>Conduct comprehensive claim investigations, preserve critical evidence, and maintain complete file documentation.</li>
<li>Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate recovery opportunities and allocate resources effectively.</li>
<li>Participate in claim reviews and collaborate with claims partners to develop file strategy and direction.</li>
<li>Monitor arbitration outcomes and identify trends, process improvements, and recovery opportunities.</li>
</ul>
Legal Coordination & Negotiation
 <ul>
<li>Collaborate with legal counsel and external partners to preserve rights and develop litigation strategies.</li>
<li>Negotiate settlements with carriers, attorneys, and other interested parties.</li>
<li>Represent MEM’s interests during mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed.</li>
<li>Provide consultation and status updates to policyholders, agents, underwriters, and internal stakeholders regarding subrogation matters.</li>
<li>Support litigation management efforts and coordinate with external counsel on complex recovery files.</li>
</ul>
Evidence Management & Vendor Partnerships
 <ul>
<li>Ensure evidence is properly secured, documented, and maintained according to legal and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Maintain chain-of-custody standards and oversee evidence storage practices.</li>
<li>Partner with field investigators, engineers, attorneys, and technical experts to support investigations and recovery efforts.</li>
<li>Monitor vendor utilization to ensure quality service and responsible cost management.</li>
</ul>
Training & Continuous Improvement
 <ul>
<li>Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing subrogation training programs for claims staff.</li>
<li>Share industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to promote team effectiveness.</li>
<li>Coordinate educational opportunities with external experts and industry partners.</li>
<li>Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and support operational excellence.</li>
<li>Support budget planning and resource management activities related to the subrogation function.</li>
</ul>
Industry Engagement
 <ul>
<li>Utilize industry resources, databases, and recovery tools to support investigative and recovery efforts.</li>
<li>Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain industry knowledge.</li>
<li>Serve as a subject matter expert for subrogation-related initiatives and professional forums when appropriate.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
 Education
 <ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.</li>
</ul>
Designations/Certifications
 
Preferred: 
<ul>
<li>Associate in Claims (AIC)</li>
<li>Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA)</li>
<li>Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional (CSRP)</li>
</ul>
Licenses
 <ul>
<li>Valid driver’s license required.</li>
<li>Claims Adjusting License preferred.</li>
</ul>
Experience
 <ul>
<li>7-10 years of subrogation experience required. Relevant workers' compensation claims experience may be considered in lieu of direct subrogation experience.</li>
<li>Prior experience handling complex recovery matters, investigations, arbitration, and litigation-related activities.</li>
<li>Leadership, supervisory, or team development experience preferred.</li>
<li>Experience researching insurance laws, regulations, and compliance requirements strongly preferred.</li>

Subrogation Supervisor

Are you an experienced claims professional ready to take on complex cases and make a meaningful impact? MEM Insurance is seeking a seasoned Claims Representative to join our dynamic Claims team. In this role, you will manage a caseload of high-exposure workers’ compensation claims, oversee advanced medical case management, and develop tailored Return-to-Work plans. You’ll collaborate with vocational consultants, legal counsel, and internal teams to ensure compliance, negotiate settlements, and deliver exceptional service to our policyholders. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while providing leadership on complex claims and contributing to workflow improvements.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Manage complex workers’ compensation claims involving high financial exposure, sensitive issues, or extended life cycles.</li>
<li>Investigate coverage and compensability, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with state statutes.</li>
<li>Oversee advanced medical case management, including coordination with Nurse Case Managers and external vendors.</li>
<li>Develop and implement Return-to-Work plans for high-risk claims, collaborating with vocational consultants and legal counsel.</li>
<li>Identify and investigate potential fraud and subrogation opportunities, partnering with the Special Investigation Unit.</li>
<li>Establish and maintain accurate claim reserves within authority levels, ensuring timely responsiveness to changing circumstances.</li>
<li>Evaluate and negotiate settlements within approved authority levels, including structured settlements and Medicare compliance.</li>
<li>Collaborate with legal counsel to manage litigation and ensure adherence to MEM guidelines.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate system data and prepare reports for management on high-profile claims.</li>
<li>Foster cross-departmental collaboration with Underwriting, Premium Consultation, and Loss Prevention.</li>
<li>Provide mentorship and training to junior adjusters, supporting professional growth and team development.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
 <ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.</li>
<li>Associate in Claims (AIC) designation preferred.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license required; Texas-All Lines license preferred.</li>
<li>3–5 years of claims handling experience, primarily in Workers’ Compensation. Missouri experience preferred.</li>
