Summary
This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing and maintaining an environment that allows for the perfect patient experience. This is achieved by maintaining and repairing hospital utilities, equipment and environmental systems.
Job Description
Job Duties<ul><li>
Complete work orders at the direction of the Supervisor or Dispatcher with ability to work with little or no assistance from other staff members if required.</li><li>
Able to communicate with customers informing of status of work orders and issues pertaining to their respective departments.</li><li>
Complete preventive maintenance procedures accurately and timely in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and regulations.</li><li>
Have a good knowledge and understanding of mechanical/building systems to ensure ability to resolve issues.</li><li>
Be assigned for professional pathway for certification, license, or equivalency (validated years or experience) in Electrical, Plumbing/Boilers, Mechanical/HVAC/Chilled Water systems, or Life Safety Maintenance trade areas.</li><li>
Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<ul><li>
Good written and oral skills.</li><li>
Self-starter, motivated to work hard.</li><li>
Works well with others</li><li>
Looks for opportunities to improve facility and processes</li><li>
Ability to use email and web-based software</li><li>
Ability to read and understand blueprints.</li><li>
Demonstrated proficiency at a basic level.</li><li>
Basic knowledge and understanding of building systems.</li></ul>
Professional Experience<ul><li>
Experience in facility maintenance or construction is preferred.</li></ul>
Education<ul><li>
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.</li></ul>
Licensure, Certification, Registration<ul><li>
Must have Valid Driver&rsquo;s License</li><li>
Must provide and maintain a good driving record, documented at hire by a copy of official driving record from the Iowa DOT.
