Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery &amp; Trattoria features a full menu of freshly made breads, pastas, entrees, salads and wood-oven pizzas, along with finely crafted Arizona wines, select beers and cocktails. Also onsite is the greenhouse and bottle shop and retail space. 
 
The Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming and engaging guests, and ensuring that they are seated. Their duties include maintaining a well-stocked and organized retail area, maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus, accepting phone calls, completing accurate money transactions and accuracy of the cash register.
Experience: Two years or more of experience as hostess in the food and beverage industry is preferred.
Compensation: $15.15-16.00 per hour
Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance, employer paid life insurance, paid holidays (based on policy), paid vacation &amp; sick leave, and paid parental leave.
Days/Hours: Somewhat flexible. 20 &ndash; 40 hours per week available

Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Experience hostessing or similar.</li><li>
Greets customers as they walk into the restaurant, helps with reservations, and guides them to their table.</li><li>
Adds guests to the Waitlist and gives them approximate wait time estimates.</li><li>
Provides guests with menus and answers any initial questions they may have.</li><li>
Optimizes seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff.</li><li>
Answers phones and schedules reservations with large parties.</li><li>
Cleans the store and ensure products are properly displayed before the store opens. Including, shelves, counters, and tables.</li><li>
Organizes merchandise on shelves and restocks them when they become empty.</li><li>
Recommends, selects, and helps locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.</li><li>
Advises customers concerning particular products or services and answers questions regarding the store and its merchandise.</li><li>
Executes routine inventory counts and submits reports to the Store Manager.</li><li>
Completes other store administrative tasks as directed by the Store Manager.</li><li>
Upsells to customers through recommendations.</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.</li><li>
Able to accurately handle payment transactions.</li><li>
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bending, lifting of 25 pounds.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
