About the Role
 As a Preschool Teacher at Merryhill School, you’ll play a central role in nurturing the growth, curiosity, and early development of our youngest learners. Preschoolers thrive with structure, exploration, and warm, responsive caregiving—and your classroom will provide the secure, joyful spaces they need to build confidence and independence.
 
You will also: 
<ul>
<li>Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum focused on sensory exploration, early language, gross and fine motor development, and social-emotional growth</li>
<li>Foster a consistent and comforting daily routine that supports toddlers’ need for structure and security</li>
<li>Encourage independence through gentle guidance, responsive caregiving, and purposeful play</li>
<li>Collaborate with fellow early childhood educators and school leadership to ensure alignment in instructional practices and care standards</li>
<li>Communicate daily with parents through verbal updates, digital reports, and informal check-ins</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment aligned with licensing standards and school policies</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For
 <ul>
<li>12 semester (or 18 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education, including coursework in child development, curriculum, and family/community</li>
<li>Experience working with preschoolers in a licensed child care setting preferred</li>
<li>Deep patience, nurturing instincts, and a genuine love for children and early learning</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with both children and families</li>

About the Role
 The Assistant Principal supports the Head of School and/or Principal in overseeing all campus operations, spanning financial planning, community engagement, staff development, and day-to-day management. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to deepen administrative expertise while shaping a strong, cohesive school community.
 You will help guide and develop teachers, strengthen family relationships, and ensure the campus operates efficiently and safely. Above all, you will uphold a culture of care, physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually, ensuring students remain at the center of every decision and that the learning environment remains safe, welcoming, and well-organized.
 Key Responsibilities
 Instructional Leadership & Academic Support
 <ul>
<li>Support implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum and instructional practices</li>
<li>Observe classrooms and provide coaching and feedback to teachers to drive instructional quality</li>
<li>Partner with leadership to monitor student progress and support academic interventions as needed</li>
<li>Promote student-centered learning environments that support the whole child</li>
</ul>
Staff Development & Team Leadership
 <ul>
<li>Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining high-quality educators and staff</li>
<li>Support performance management, including coaching, feedback, and professional development planning</li>
<li>Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team culture</li>
<li>Step in as acting school leader in the absence of the Principal/Head of School</li>
</ul>
Campus Operations & Compliance
 <ul>
<li>Support daily campus operations, including scheduling, staffing coverage, and facility oversight</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with state licensing, health, and safety requirements</li>
<li>Assist with emergency preparedness and implementation of school safety protocols</li>
<li>Partner with administrative staff to ensure efficient front office operations</li>
</ul>
Family & Community Engagement
 <ul>
<li>Build strong relationships with families through consistent communication and visibility</li>
<li>Support student enrollment, retention, and community outreach efforts</li>
<li>Address parent questions or concerns with professionalism and responsiveness</li>
<li>Represent the school positively within the broader community</li>
</ul>
Enrollment & Business Support
 <ul>
<li>Partner with leadership on enrollment goals, tours, and conversion efforts</li>
<li>Support marketing initiatives and campus events to drive prospective family engagement</li>
<li>Monitor key campus metrics and contribute to action planning for improvement</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For
 <ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or a related field</li>
<li>Minimum of one year in a school leadership or administrative role</li>
<li>At least three years of prior teaching experience</li>
<li>Knowledge of state education and licensing standards; maintains required credentials</li>
<li>Broad understanding of instructional programs, extracurricular activities, and strategies that ensure a safe and orderly school environment</li>
<li>Strong preference for candidates with prior responsibility in school operations, including building maintenance oversight, program evaluation, employee engagement and management, office administration, and emergency procedures</li>
