Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Weld/Shift Production Lead is primarily responsible for assisting the Supervisor in overseeing all departments on either 2nd or 3rd shift with a primary focus on manual and robotic weld. This person may perform all types of welding, as well as give instruction to the welders. This role is responsible for acting as a good role model for the rest of the shift and for keeping the departments organized and clean.</div>
Responsibilities:<br>

Will assist the Supervisor in directing and assisting in the work activities of the welders and employees in all departments as needed.</li><li>
Work with both the 2nd/3rd shift teams to ensure the parts are made correctly and schedule is being followed and on-time.</li><li>
Keep informed of any changes and new procedures throughout the day to stay on schedule.</li><li>
Communicate information, assist in resolving problems and support continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>
Must be familiar with all Company&rsquo;s policies on quality and report to Supervisors when others in the department are not in compliance.</li><li>
Assist with cost savings, continuous improvements and more efficient ways to run shop operations.</li><li>
Follow all company rules, policies and regulations.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.</li><li>
Maintains company quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.</li><li>
Uses equipment and supplies to perform work in accordance with operational standards.</li><li>
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience</b></div><ul><li>
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with management and peers openly.</li><li>
Ability to efficiently assist in leading a team and coordinate work with other departments.</li><li>
Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.</li><li>
Knowledge of welding equipment and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance (preferred but not required)</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret documents like blueprints, welding symbols, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals (preferred but not required)</li><li>
Know when to escalate issues that require additional technical or leadership support.</li><li>
Basic Computer knowledge.</li><li>
High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.</li><li>
Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Required Knowledge and Abilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Strong basic math skills.</li><li>
Previous experience working within a weld department (preferred but not required)</li><li>
Previous forklift experience (preferred but not required).</li><li>
Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Prior lead experience, preferably in a weld department.</li><li>
Microsoft Office skills. Ideal candidate would also have SAP experience</li><li>
Must be willing to work flexible hours as required</li></ul><div><b>
Equipment Operated</b>: Forklift, welders, robots, lifts, overhead cranes, measurement devices, cleaning materials.</div><p></p><div><br>
