What you will do<ul><li>
Plans, organizes, develops and implements revenue cycle operations to meet UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists and departmental goals and objectives.</li><li>
Maintains appropriate internal controls over front end billing functions, patient registration, pre-certification, procedure authorizations, insurance verification, charge entry and coding. Keeps abreast of all reimbursement billing procedures of third party and private insurance payers.</li><li>
Manages patient registration, pre-certification, procedure authorization, coding, and charge posting, advising supervisors on the day-to-day implementation and interpretation to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.</li><li>
Provides analysis with regard to financial impact of new MH ULPS business opportunities and decisions.</li><li>
Manages, and controls development and implementation of product and procedure pricing for ULPS.</li><li>
Manages along with the CBO, the re-certification/clinical denials management process including the clinical appeal, rebilling, and verification process.</li><li>
Promotes the flow of information by establishing, utilizing, and maintaining effective communication systems within and outside the department.</li><li>
Develops, analyzes, and reviews special projects as necessary.</li><li>
Manages the process of internal and external charge/chart audit.</li><li>
Designs and implements training programs to ensure that all areas are adequately trained on charge capture and reconciliation policies and procedures.</li><li>
Designs process to capture lost charges missed by ULPS billing areas to ensure maximum legitimate reimbursement for the services provided.</li><li>
Maintains and develops a competent, productive, and quality conscious workforce by hiring, evaluating performance, counseling, training, issuing corrective action, and recommending promotion or discharge of department personnel according to the MH value.</li></ul>

Provides care in a medical clinic under the direction of a provider. Performs administrative tasks to ensure that the medical office runs smoothly and successfully. What you will do<ul><li>
Performs receptionist, clerical and data entry activities related to patient care such as scheduling appointments and Diagnostic Imaging exams, lab call backs, prior authorizations, retrieving medical histories, filling out patient paperwork and forms and answering and returning phone calls.</li>
<li>Proactively assists patients throughout the visit as needed, accompanies patients to the exam/procedure room. Responds to patient needs in a professional and friendly manner.</li>
<li>Collects and records patient data including height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration rate and blood pressure, and basic information about the presenting and previous conditions. Records pertinent patient information, surgical history, reviews systems, past medical history, social history, medical management including but not limited to allergies, etc.</li>
<li>May assist with physical examination preparations.</li>
<li>Performs EKGs, removes sutures/ staples, and changes sterile and non-sterile dressings as directed.</li>
<li>Effectively collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis utilizing non-invasive techniques, including urine, sputum and stool. Assists with undressing, cleansing and positioning patients for specific procedures.</li>
<li>Perform skin tests and venipuncture of skin for purpose of withdrawing blood.</li>
<li>Administers medication and immunizations under the direction of the physician or advanced practice provider.</li>
<li>May authorize prescription refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies ordered and authorized by a physician or advanced practice provider.</li>
<li>Administers first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an emergency.</li>
<li>Prepares and cleans exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control. Ensures instruments are cleaned and sterilized and contaminated supplies are properly disposed.</li>
<li>Prepares orders, sorts, stores, and restocks supplies for exam/procedure room. Duties may include ordering and maintaining stock of supplies.</li>
<li>Provides patient education and instructions under the authorization of the supervising physician.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned or requested.</li></ul>
