Methuen Construction is seeking a Laborer to provide essential support to the Field Operations department. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.
Your Role
<ul><li>Cleanup of debris, grounds, and buildings.</li>
<li>Stripping of concrete framework, including removal of exposed ties.</li>
<li>Unloading of materials and deliveries to Project Site.</li>
<li>Hand excavation, digging of trenches, raking, tamping, compacting soil.</li>
<li>Placing concrete in formwork including horizontal formwork for flatwork.</li>
<li>Vibrating conrete.</li>
<li>Setting up of ladders, means of access, scaffolding and planking.</li>
<li>Wrapping and covering with tarps, polyethylene or insulating blankets.</li>
<li>Mixing mortar and grout including grout beneath structural and mechanical baseplates.</li>
<li>Backfilling, grading, or raking.</li>
<li>Laying of drains, sewers, water distribution, PVC conduits or other piping in the trench (pipe layer).</li>
<li>Assembly of manholes, catch basins and drainage structures (pipe layer).</li>
<li>Tending all other trades including materials handling on site prior to final installation.</li>
<li>Handling all other trades including materials handing on site prior to final installation.</li>
<li>Handling and placement of riprap, slope protection, erosion control, and siltation control materials.</li>
<li>Spreading and rolling of bituminous asphalt.</li>
<li>Screeding of concrete.</li>
<li>Patching the holes in concrete surfaces.</li>
<li>Demolition activities.</li>
<li>Hand grading of earth materials, curb setting, and landscaping.</li>
<li>Setting and stripping concrete sidewalk forms.</li>
<li>Installation and removal of temporary weather protection.</li>
<li>Handling, rigging, and setting of precast concrete slabs, planks, walls, and curbing.</li>
<li>Sand and water blasting.</li>
<li>Application of concrete curing compounds.</li>
<li>Installation of insulation, damproofing, and moisture barrier materials below or at grade on or beneath concrete walls and slabs.</li>
<li>Concrete coring and cutting.</li>
<li>Sheet piling, lagging, and shoring of trenches and excavations.</li>
<li>Installation and removal of temporary weather protection.</li>
<li>Fire watch activities.</li>
</ul>
Your Education and Experience
<ul><li>High School or Vocational and/or relevant work experience.</li>
<li>Minimum 1-3+ years of experience within the construction industry.</li>
</ul>

Travel
Job posting location does not guarantee that the position will be in that location; Methuen Construction has jobs throughout New England, and travel may be required, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Company per diem policy will apply.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
<ul><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds.</li>
<li>Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site.</li>
<li>Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions.</li>
<li>Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders.</li>
<li>Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, balance, and stoop on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.</li>
