The Site Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive safety program to protect employees, contractors, and visitors within our MiTek facilities. This role will ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, reduce workplace accidents and injuries, and foster a strong safety culture.
Job Responsibilities &amp; Requirements 
A Brief Overview 
The Site Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive safety program to protect employees, contractors, and visitors within our MiTek facilities. This role will ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, reduce workplace accidents and injuries, and foster a strong safety culture. 
 
Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Inspects manufacturing facilities to identify safety risks.</li><li>
Provides management team with guidance and leadership on EHS regulatory compliance and confirms plant meets or exceeds industry, local, state, and federal guidelines, and regulations.</li><li>
Prepares, schedules and conducts safety trainings, new hire safety orientations.</li><li>
Attend and assist plant supervisors with safety meetings.</li><li>
Supervises and coordinates all safety training programs, and media that will promote safety awareness, teach safety practices and develops tools for tracking required training.</li><li>
Motivate, coach, and mentor Managers, supervisors, leads, and employees.</li><li>
Provides management team with guidance and leadership on EH&amp;S systems and confirms plant meets or exceeds industry, local, state, and federal guidelines, and regulations.</li><li>
Reviews and investigates all safety incidents (injuries, near misses, property damage, etc.)</li><li>
Works with front line supervisors to develop corrective actions arising from incident investigations.</li><li>
Works with Human Resources representative on all matters relating to Worker&rsquo;s Compensation, Drug and Alcohol testing program, and disciplinary actions relating to safety violations.</li><li>
Spends a significant amount of time (70% -80%) on the manufacturing floor evaluating hazardous conditions and practices.</li><li>
Audit in pro-active stance to include training, retraining and new hire files, documentation of records and standardization.</li><li>
Ensures deficiencies arising from facility inspection are completed in a timely manner.</li><li>
Works closely with engineering department to develop hazard control practices and procedures.</li><li>
Works with 3rd party environmental consultants to ensure plant compliance (air, water, and waste permitting).</li><li>
Manages online inspection platform (Safety Culture/iAuditor) for assigned facilities.</li><li>
Oversees chemical management program (SDSs)</li><li>
Maintains all safety and training records.</li><li>
Works with 3rd party safety vendors.</li><li>
Manages hearing conservation program, air monitoring, respiratory protection program, and any other Industrial Hygiene needs.</li><li>
Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Ability to conducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key EHS metrics.</li></ul>
Education and Experience:<ul><li>
Bachelors&rsquo; Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related topic preferred. (Specific experience may be substituted).</li><li>
OHST, ASP, SMS Safety certifications, preferred but not required.</li><li>
Track record of leading EHS audit programs, awareness, and engagement programs.</li><li>
Extensive experience developing and conducting trainings for all levels of personnel.</li><li>
Five plus years practical experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment REQUIRED.</li><li>
REQUIRED experience writing policies and standard operating procedures.</li><li>
REQUIRED experience of different manufacturing and fabrication trades such as welding, machining, assembly, painting, warehousing.</li><li>
REQUIRED experience of manufacturing and fabrication equipment such as overhead cranes, rigging equipment, powered industrial trucks, lathes, CNCs.</li><li>
Experience with industrial lasers and robotics a plus.</li><li>
Experience using Safety management software preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and Industrial Hygiene regs and Best Practices.</li><li>
Required knowledge of Electrical Safety, and Lockout/Tagout Procedures, knowledge of Brady Link360 software a plus.</li><li>
Basic business acumen and the ability to partner and communicate effectively with business counterparts.</li><li>
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (5S)</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.</li><li>
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing to safely conduct risk assessments.</li><li>
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li><li>
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.</li></ul>
