JOB TITLE: Systems &amp; Network Engineer
LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: IT Department
EXEMPT STATUS/GRADE: Exempt/23
REPORTS TO: Network Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
SUMMARY OF POSITION: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems &amp; Network Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network and systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems and network engineering, along with a proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul><li>Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise network and on-prem server infrastructure.</li><li>
Monitor network and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high levels of availability, performance, and security.</li><li>
Administer and support Cisco Secure Firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.</li><li>
Management of Cisco DNA, ISE, ESA, Umbrella and DUO technologies.</li><li>
Perform regular system and network maintenance, updates, and patch management.</li><li>
Support backup and disaster recovery strategies and solutions.</li><li>
Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures in line with compliance requirements.</li><li>
Assist in the planning and deployment of IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.</li><li>
Assist in the management of Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file servers, VMWare, and SAN.</li><li>
Provide technical support and escalate complex issues to senior engineers or vendors when necessary.</li><li>
Document system configurations, network diagrams, and processes for knowledge sharing and compliance.</li><li>
Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.</li><li>
Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees and assisting in other areas of IT.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul><li>2 or 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>
4+ years of experience in a Systems and/or Network Engineering role.</li><li>
Advance knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco Secure Firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, as well as the whole suite of Cisco products (DNA, ISE, ESA, Umbrella, DUO).</li><li>
Proficiency with network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols).</li><li>
Hands-on experience with VMWare as well as Windows and Linux server environments.</li><li>
Experience with reading syslogs and Wireshark captures.</li><li>
Strong understanding of security best practices (firewall policies, endpoint protection, access controls).</li><li>
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.</li><li>
Proven organizational and time management abilities.</li><li>
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.</li><li>
Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.</li><li>
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent.</li><li>
Experience with automation/scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go).</li><li>
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Zabbix, Splunk, SolarWinds, Graylog, etc.).</li><li>
Experience in healthcare IT setting preferred.</li></ul>
DAILY PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Requires sitting, bending and stretching required. Requires lifting computer equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally. Repetitive motions, keyboarding, twisting, turning, gripping and grasping.
