Heavy Industrial FabricatorMiller Contracting &ndash; Carrier Mills, IL (Onsite)OverviewMiller Contracting Services is seeking an Industrial Fabricator to support fabrication projects for mining, industrial, construction, and heavy equipment applications.This position is focused primarily on fit-up, layout, assembly, blueprint interpretation, and fabrication preparation, with welding being a supporting function rather than the primary responsibility. Quality craftsmanship, teamwork, and reliability drive success throughout our operations.What You'll DoFabrication &amp; Fit-Up<ul><li>Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications</li><li>Lay out, measure, mark, and prepare materials for fabrication</li><li>Fit and assemble structural steel, plate work, equipment components, and assemblies</li><li>Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment before welding</li><li>Assist with fabrication of custom industrial and mining-related components</li><li>Work closely with welders, machinists, and shop leadership to ensure accurate assemblies</li></ul>Material Preparation<ul><li>Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, torches, drills, and other shop tools</li><li>Prepare material for fabrication and assembly</li><li>Perform material handling using forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment when trained and authorized</li><li>Quality &amp; Production</li><li>Inspect work for accuracy and conformance to drawings</li><li>Identify and communicate fit-up issues before production delays occur</li><li>Maintain productivity while meeting quality standards</li><li>Support continuous improvement and efficient workflow throughout the shop</li></ul>Safety<ul><li>Follow all company safety policies and procedures</li><li>Wear required PPE</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area</li><li>Participate in safety meetings and training</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 3 years of fabrication, fitting, or industrial manufacturing experience</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings</li><li>Strong measuring and layout skills</li><li>Experience using fabrication tools and shop equipment</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Strong attention to detail and quality</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience fitting structural steel, heavy equipment, or industrial components</li><li>Welding experience (MIG, Flux Core, Stick, or TIG)</li><li>Forklift or overhead crane experience</li><li>Experience in mining, industrial, or heavy construction environments</li></ul>Compensation / BenefitsPay Range: $25.00&ndash;$28.00 per hour, depending on experience, fabrication knowledge, blueprint reading ability, and fit-up experience.<ul><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Paid time off and paid holidays</li><li>Company-paid life insurance</li><li>Disability, voluntary accident, and critical illness coverage</li><li>Profit sharing opportunities</li></ul>Why Miller ContractingMiller Contracting operates as a &quot;Bottom Up&quot; organization.
