Miller Milling

<div><div><div>Summary:
Direct reporting to the Quality Manager responsible for the quality of grain-based product produced during scheduled work hours throughout the sampling, analytical test and result analysis.
The role requires complete adherence to Miller Milling Company&rsquo;s Food Safety, Safety, and Quality policies and expectations through successful completion of training and demonstrated in practice. Interacts with other departments to communicate testing results.
Pay Range: $26.34 - $28.08 per hour
Primary Duties:
Quality Analysis<ul><li>
Perform chemical, physical and instrumentation testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process ingredients, finished product and R&amp;D samples to ensure specifications are met.</li><li>
Ensure that daily production meets all product standards and production schedules.</li><li>
Perform analysis on in-process and finished products and review and audit daily tailings report.</li><li>
Prepare and analyze all wheat samples brought to the laboratory (including running all required analysis and recording).</li><li>
Run manual moistures and ash as needed.</li><li>
Ensure proper mill control by reviewing and verifying the calibration of all analytical equipment in the laboratory.</li><li>
Record data in quality control log, on SharePoint online system as required.</li><li>
Communication of out of spec product with mill,and blending personnel.</li><li>
Keep the Head Miller informed of milling sample results like ash, protein and moisture.</li><li>
Prepare and maintain standard samples current for comparison.</li><li>
Perform all testing related to internal and external Cross Check Programs.</li><li>
Verify incoming ingredient supplier Certificate of Analysis.</li></ul> 
Administration &amp; Lab Upkeep<ul><li>
Responsible for cleaning and maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory.</li><li>
Maintain minimum stocks of all laboratory equipment and supplies.</li><li>
Set-up, plan, research, perform and complete lab projects as required.</li><li>
Creation and Submission of Certificates of Analysis to customers and of shipments.</li><li>
Perform other responsibilities as requested.</li></ul>
 Qualifications:<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, related fields, or equivalent experience</li><li>
Minimum of 1 year experience as laboratory analyst or related experience</li><li>
Knowledge in basic laboratory and analytical procedures</li><li>
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications</li><li>
Excellent organization skills, and abilities to make decisions on quality issues</li><li>
Ability to work any shift and required overtime</li></ul></div></div></div>
